Im going to U.S 41 on the 25th to run my 87 fox for the first time. I have 200 dollars left to spend. I just bought a cobra intake which i installed. I have a clutch with 50% wear on it to put in, because my throwout bearing is like making noises. I got a pair of hoosier racing slicks for 15" rims and im praying that they will fit in my wheel wells. Their size is 27.0x10.5-15, anyone know if these are going to fit in my wheel wells? ANyway, i was thinking about getting some sub frame connectors to put on the car before i went to make sure i dont start ripping up my car. I was also considering purchasing a helmet to use. I didn't need one when i took my old 97 v6, because i was only running 17 seconds, now im hoping that i can push a high 14. So im going to need a helmet, thought i could borrow my uncles when hes not racing but then i wouldn't get to run against him. What do you guys think i should do? ANy other ideas on opther things i should get before i go?

since you didnt say what mods that you had besides the cobra intake, i would suggest a set of underdrives and a 65mm throttle body. they will help a bit and might be good for .2-.4.

the cobra intake is my only mod, as ive only had the car for 2 weeks.
thats cool, i didnt know if it came with a cat back, k&n or anything like that. do a K&n and pullies .... they are usually first on everyones list. Throttle body will help it breathe a bit too.

I don't think you'll need to worry about a helmet, as you have to run a 13.99 or faster to be required to wear one. At least that's how it is at my local track. Could be different at yours.

Anyways, subframes would be a great addition and well under $200.

Look for some used underdrive pullies ($50-$60) and 70MM TB/EGR ($120-$150). Subs would be a good idea with slicks. I ran 14.6 1/4 with a 2 1/4" dyno-max cat back with 2.73's (5 speed). Current mods have me down to 14.0 1/4.
