I've got a set of Adams irons, 3-9 and the PW, but what other wedges are pretty common? I'd like to pick a couple more wedges up just to have something other than the PW to use but I'm not sure if I need a lob wedge, sand wedge, etc.. What do guys recommend for a beginner who plays a couple times a month or so??

I think I would go with a Wedgie!

I would stick to the pitching wedge.

If you feel that you need a sand wedge try that. But, as you said, you're a beginner that plays a couple times a month. So just use what you have, and you will teach yourself to use it well. So in the end I don't think it would make much difference to you.

When I was in HS, I worked at a country club. My friends and I would go there once a week after school and play, and I found that I never needed more than a PW to get a decent score.
Once your technique improves and you start relying more on the backspin of the ball, then you might want to look into other wedges.

Also don't underestimate the importance of your driver and the other woods. Your chipping and putting don't mean crap if you can't get to the green.

the only one that'd probably be of any use to you is a sand wedge. that and the pw is really all you should need...

although none of it really matters because golf is a game that you'll always suck at, so having more clubs just means you'll lose more money when you break them in half.

Well, after my most recent round this weekend, I seriously contemplated tossing my clubs AND the cart in the water. Wasn't a pretty weekend to say the least. But I did get to the driving range this weekend and was able to work on some things. I feel alot better about my irons now, so I just have to get back out to the course again.
