Im going tommorow to the track for hte first time in my 87 mustang . I want it to run the best it can so i was thinking about running racing 106 octane gas in it. Do you think it will make my car run any better/ faster. Im going to leave the car at 1/4 tank of 87 for the ride there then have my 6 gallon gas can filled up with 106. Will it my car run faster, or worse. The only mods i have are exhaust, intake, and centerforce clutch. What do you guys think???

What he meant to say was "as long as it's unleaded racing fuel". Leaded will kill your oxygen sensors and cats.

But anyways, you don't need racing fuel. 93 octane is more than enough. If I were to guess, you'd make less power with the racing fuel than you would with pump gas.

Why do you think you need race fuel? As long as you don't have a lot of compression, or nitrous, or boost, you are just wasting money. The race fuel won't hurt your motor, but if you use a leaded race fuel, if I recall correctly, it is not good for cats. You might just want to put in a few gallons of 100 octane pump gas just to bump up the timing a little. Just my .02
