For the record, and I had hoped this was not true, the top is from the SN95 Mustang. I was hoping this wasn't the case because I have several SN95 verts and they all had the same problem: need to take the interior lining out every now and then to tighen up all the bolts. Hopefully, with the S197 platform, there won't be as much twist to the car and less of a need to do that with the top.

I had a patient last night that is a Ford/Jaguar special project engineer and he said dont be surprised if the 05 verts are delayed a bit. He said they are having problems with water sealing. He was definitely not bs'ing, he knew a crapload of stuff, very cool guy.

The 2005 Mustang convertible looks nicer than the 99-04 Mustang convertibles. The only thing which bothers me is that Ford is not doing anything to stop water leakage in their convertibles. It's stupid to use the same SN95 convettible top assemblies when Ford "knows" that they have water leakage problems. Ford "still" didn't get it right with the Mustang. It's a very big shame that there will be many new 2005 Mustang convertible owners who are going to have water problems because of faulty convertible tops. Ford needs to get it right (yeah right).

PerformanceRed. I dont mean to sound like a jerk, but everything I have read from you on this forum has been negative about the car. If you don't have anything nice to say about the subject or any good input then don't put your stupid comments in there. Everyone realizes that there will be problems. You don't have to write a paragraph about it everytime just to say "I told ya so". People are going to buy the car they want. I have a 66 mustang that runs like crap and isnt the prettiest of the bunch, but i wouldn't change it for anything. Ford did a good job IMO redesining and now assembling the new car. Why don't you reserve judgement until you actually drive one and own one. Sorry for the rant stangers but it is getting annoying reading all these posts and hearing PerformanceRed badmouth everyhting that is talked about.

I am only talking about defects, problems and quality control issues which you people will be complaining about once you receive you brand new 2005 Mustangs (I can't wait to hear all your complaints).

I am not putting down the Mustang. I just want to see Ford do a "better" job building the new 2005 model Mustang (yeah right). I love the Mustang. And I hope that they can make improvements on some of the issues that will pose as problems with these vehicles to their new owners. That's all.

Yeah, you seem like you love the new Mustang. You also must like to take it in the bung too since you are offering to pick up the soap. What were you in jail and found yourself a "girlfriend"? True love in the locker room, eh?
