1st-2nd shifting problem

OUCH, same thing happened to me with my 99 with a pro50 shifter. First thing to do is check to make sure that your stop rings are set far enough back that your shifter can fully engage 2nd gear. Next check your clutch. But I hate to tell you mean, but you are gona have to tear open your tranny and its time for some rebuilding. Your t45 probably just has some teeth that are worn down too much like mine was and you need new ones. Not too cheap but that is the problem. Also make sure that the little bushing that is on the end of the shifter that goes into the tranny is present because I think that may have contributed to me tearing up 2nd gear. Just don't try and do to much powershifting once you have this resolved. Get a new tko500/600 instead of rebuilding it actually :nice:

well, the upside is, its not my car; im only looking at it-the guy is askin 11500 neg. the car has 50k and light mods. i think its a good price but not if theres serious trans work involved-he says it was the trans fluid needing to be changed cause it wasnt lubing the synchros properly...is that a possibility or is it really in need of a new/rebuilt trans?

well it may help, but dont let him try and cover it up by puttin synthetic in there. I only think urs is busted too because same thing happened to mine at like 4k plus, but if you only fix 2nd gear, then it would be like 800 bucks probably. But sorry man, I d keep looking, I spent like 3 grand fixing my t45, when I should have looked into another one or got a whole new better tranny. but my car was just too awsome I had to get it, good luck

Is it me or is every T-45 going down. I am taking my tranny apart today. I cannot find a service manual for it so I am winging it, lol. This could be the destruction of my t-45. Oh well I got a new one on the way.
