i really like the way the newer style dash/console is layed out and i like haveing a factory head unit. Don't know why but i do. I have a leather Parchment interior now and had plans to convert it to a darker interior.

Q: Can i just get the dash and what not out of a 2001 and if so will the 2001 newer in dash 6 disc work with my harness?

yes you can. But I think 99 have defroster switch next head light switch right? later modle have 3 switches below radio opening(fog, defroster, trac), so you need to figure out with that, other wise you'll have gaping hole, or dead switch on center console. I think harness is same. But does your 99 have 2 amps on the back like mine do?

my pic shows the 3 buttons at the bottom, its an 03 gt. and mine has the 2 amps in the trunk also.

I would just rewire the fog switch and defrost switch.

As far as the amps I haven't had it apart yet so i'm not sure. I did have this reverse view of the 99 dash.
