Well the intake on my 99' GT just cracked like i have read som many of these intakes do... Who the hell puts a plastic intake manifold on a "performance" car. The sad thing is all the others that i have read of on forums that have the same problem... I hate to say it but I might be looking at another manifacturer for my next car... Ford better get off their asses and complete the recall on these to include "non-service" vehicles... For those of you who dont know what I am talking about, try doing a yahoo search for 4.6L intake manifold and get ready to spend $600.00 plus to replace yours... :notnice:

I wouldn't consider a Pontiac then. I just wound up getting a 3/8ths inch hole in a plastic intake because the fuel filter got clogged up. Yea, that's right. It seems the clogged filter cause a super lean condition which led to backfires under acceleration trying to get up to speed, which caused an overheated EGR tube to melt a spot thru the plastic. I can give you a laundry list of crap that went wrong with the car. You want a GM over something like this? Go for it. :nonono: I epoxied it and shipped it. Good ridance

99+ intakes crack?

Are you blown/nitroused? If yes, that's hardly Ford's fault.

My engine is totally stock. It began cracking/leaking at 72k. After about 3k miles and 15 attempts to stop the crack and leaking I broke down and bought the 01+ intake. Cost me $100 installed at Ford...

Yep my piece of shyt intake cracked to and antifreeze is all over the motor.Heard that Ford will only replace them if the car has under 100,000 miles. They knew it was crap when they installed it.Ford is full of BS.If they knew this, then they should replace every one of them that cracked.....Bunch of BUms

i dont know what the bfd is. you can get a PI intake with an aluminum crossover from gefracing for like $190. im sure if you looked hard enough you could get one for less. its not that hard to install yourself, it shouldnt take more than 3 hours. and with the aluminum crossover you will never have a crack again.

I thought so myself. i thought craking manihold was pre99 thing. ford suposed to fixed that issue on 99+4.6L
Its unfortunate that they use plastic. Most other manufacture use plastic intake manifold these days. LS1, LS2, SRT-4, just name few
