Cleaning engine bay...

wet it with the hose (becareful while doing this-alterntor etc)

any de-greaser, or even Westleys bleach white, get in the small areas with a toothbrush but re-spray the degreaser as you go along, and I say westleys bleach white because it won't di-color the hoses etc.

when you are ready carefully rinse, and then dry with a towel,
while I am rinsing I usully let the engine run, shut her down and towel dry as much as you can...then apply your vinyl protectant of choice :p

Engine Cleaner

Heya,
I've found that Simple Green works well for me. It's good to do on a cool to warm engine. Spray down, being careful to avoid elec. to much. Let it soak for a while, then gently spray off with hose. It's a great degreaser. Crank her up, throw out all the crud, then dry her off...

I usually use silicone to protect the hoses, not to mention it makes it look beautiful!! Here's a pic of mine once it was done...

Simple Green on a slightly wet engine bay, I scrub what I can reach and rinse with low pressure water. I don't wrap anything up either.
Works great on mine since 1999.(wow a ryhme!)
