I am converting my 4 cyl '84 mustang into a v8 car. What is the only wiring that I need to keep for the engine and basic electronics like lights and wipers???? and how can I hide them to make it clean looking????

i gutted my engine bay harness of all the smog wiring, I kept the wiring for the headlights, wipers, alternator. youll also need a switched 12v+ for the ignition and wiring for the gauges. route everything inside the fenders to keep it out of sight

What I did was I bought an MSD, so the only thing you need is power from the battery and an ignition on power... then you have the two wires going to the distributor, and two going to the coil. That's all you need to run the ignition. Another way of doing it is installing an HEI Distributor which has all the ignition components inside the distributor. With this set up, all you need is 1 wire to run the motor.. Just an ignition hot wire. As far as the wires for the wipers and head lights... You can cut and add wires to your exsisting harness for the headlights and turn signals so you can run them in the fenders, like the other guy said.
