Im considering getting a short throw shifter for the t56 in my 04. Ive been missing a few shifts and feel this would solve the problem. Im kind of tall, and with the seat back I have to reach a little for third and fifth. My question is for the guys whom have installed shor throws; will I have to reach more or about the same or less would be great. Also, what if i reused the stock shift handle on the short throw. I appreciate any and all info/advice you can share. thanks.

Steeda Tri-Ax is the way to go. Don't cheap your mustang. If your going to replace the shifter do it right the first time. I have a Tri-ax on my 99 Cobra and the shifts could'nt be better short and more precise and I have not missed a gear!

have you even seen the MGW complete shifter yet???

I OWN a Tri-Ax, and I have driven many Pro 5.0 ( I actually prefer a pro 5.0 with a MGW handle better than my Tri-ax with a MGW handle). I will be replacing my shifter with a MGW piece.

I highly recommend you at least look into the MGW complete shifter, its the only shifter out there that is different enough to warrant a patent for the design. All the others out there are just like the stock piece, with just better material. If you know anything about MGW, you would know that everything is done with great craftmanship, design and engineering.

There are far too many people out there that have only tried one product and swear by it. The independent reviews of the MGW shifter should be out this week, so you can check it out. I will post a link when I see it.

I pre-ordered one last week form MGW.....

I have a pro 5.0 on my t56 with a steeda handle. I prefer a pro 5.0 over a tri ax but the handle was just a little to short for this application. I had to actually move myself up off the back of my seat everytime I wanted to put it in 3rd 5th or reverse. I am 6' 1" and I have a pretty long reach just to give you an idea. With the steeda handle on now I can sit back in the seat now and shift comfortably.

You still havent answered the question if I will have to reach more or less for the shifter.

The egronomics on the '03-'04 Mustang shifter suck....you will reach more than you have to with any shifter on this car. More specific answer on the MGW shifter....Don't know....it hasn't been released yet. They say it will be like no shifter before and they will sell it two ways: short handle version like Pro 5.0 (for track etc.) and an ergonomically version (more like Tri-Ax height) for everyday aggressive driving.

Well Here is the first look.

I hope you guys waited for the MGW piece, cause this thing is awesome.
