Guys,

I need some insight and help! :hail2: Like the title says...

I have a stock 1994 Convertible with a 5.0 engine and AODE. I have $1000 to spend on some engine mods, gears, exhaust, etc... What sort of setup do you guys suggest?

One other thing, don't laugh, but do our Stangs (specifically 94-95) have 'loose' gas pedals? I think I might have a problem with my gas pedal because I almost have to floor it to give it gas and it wiggles around when I tap it... :bang:

Thanks all!

I would say get gears 4.10 to be excact those auto really need help moving thats going to take about half of the $$ right there but it will be the best bang for the buck. If you don't have emissions an off road H/X/prochamber will help her breath thats any where from $130-$235. Then some underdrive pullies will give you a nice little gain new just under $100 from racenet.net (ASP aluminium). The mid pipes can be found pretty cheap used search through the classifieds here and ebay.

3.73 or 4.10 gears and a Mild Street Edge Converter... :D

That should wipe out your Grand right there and get the most bang for the buck. :nice:

Oh and no the pedal shouldn't "wiggle" much. :rlaugh:

You may have to press the pedal all the way down just cause it's stock and not very fast?

Another vote for gears and converter. I used to have an 87gt auto, and the 4.10's and stall really woke up the car. If you have anything left, would get some pulleys, exh, ect... depending on funds left over and if you do work yourself or not.

I have a 94 Vert with AODE and heres what I did..3.73's in the rear, $500 not 4.10's because I want an SC some day and 4.10's might be too much. off road h pipe and american thunder cat back. nice sund and inexpensive, $375 for the complete ehaust. Underdrive pullys $100 and thats your grand. I am saveing for an edge converter now. The gears were the best money spent however.

Yeah I agree with everyone else that gears are the best money you can spend at this point. The choice of 3.73 vs 4.10s is preference really. Is your car a drag car, weekend racer, or a street car that sees the track once a year. It all depends on what your looking to do. But I can tell you that 3.73's, pullies, CAI, H-pipe and catback dropped 5 tenths off my ET's. Drag radials were good for 3 more.

what are you guys paying for gears dang clutch packs $30 from FORD
gears $155 shipped parkway FORD
Etc. crap $30-50 gasket shims little crap depending on the impending doom it takes to get things right.
plus $100 for install
total price for install gas to the dealership and subway to eat while watching rear end get a kick in the pants $350.

You live in Alabama... The rest of the 49 states still pay a premium for a gear install.. 4-5 hours labor at 50-75 puts you at $500 with labor and parts. Dont take this the wrong way.. I wish I could get a job in Alabama in my line of work and actualy earn a good wage but nobody pays there. When ever I visit my folks in Huntsville I plan an extra day for parts shopping because everything is so cheap. Consider the rest of us in the 49 jealous. you lucky man. :D

1. gears, 4.10s
2. catback, flows or MAC
3. midpipe, H/X don't really matter

thats your grand there.

I have the same car, 94 GT Vert. I want like 350 HP, no more than that (I don't want to kill myself), what upgrades do you guys suggest? I live in Mass so I do have to pass a tail pip emisions test. I really like edelbrock, and am thinking of doing everything edelbrock (head, cam, manifold, throt body). What do you guys think, and how much HP you think I'll get? I might SuperCharge her, but only if I have to, I just want enough to blow those stupid Ricers away, yet still be an everyday driver.

When did Mass start that. I just moved a year ago and there was no sniff test.

If you have a couple grand and some mchanical ability I would recomend
Gear 3'73's
exhaust
and a vortech. (there on sale at turbochargersonline.com)
properly tuned that will get you close to 350 crank horsepower. and be reliable for a daily driver.

or

Heads/cam/intake
exhaust
and 4.10's
also around 350 crank hp. about the same in price.
