Hey

Well I just recently bought an 88 Gt (hence the name), and now that its running good I need a complete rebuild of the exhaust, the hard part is my budget is quite limited (highschool sux). SO what I was wondering is if you guys had any suggestions on any setups, if it came down to it I could weld not assembled kits, but bolt on is always nice. Im thinking of an o/r x-pipe straight through muffs and a catback system. And again due to budget, I will be keeping the stock headers for now.(And I know they suck :notnice:) Thanks for any help.

why do you HAVE to do a whole new exhaust? are they rusted through or bent all to hell?

if you dont absoloutely have to replace it, i'd do it a step at a time. not trying to be stereotypical, but i was in your shoes a couple years ago. When I was in HS with my first mustang, i wanted a "wow" factor, so im guessing thats what you want. IMO, get a nice catback for your car and save up for the rest and get it later. Headers will give you a couple HP now, but you will be much happier now with a catback. It may sound kind of ricey, but its like painting your car. It wont make it faster, but you'll fall in love with it all over again. If you go out and buy a set of headers now, youll be dissapointed. You'll be even more dissapointed if you get a full exhaust setup on a VERY tight budget because most likely you'll have to replace it in the near future anyway due to broken welds, rust, etc.
