Oh well. There will be more ... lots more.

T&C Ford in Portland (off Broadway next to I-5) got a silver GT in yesterday, and I stopped by on my way home, since I drive right by there every day. This is the first time I've sat in a 2005 Mustang, and I must say that I'm not as impressed as I had hoped to be. The seats sill suck as badly as they ever did, I've gotten used to the ones in my Cobra, and while they're not exactly great themselves, they're 10 times better than what Ford is putting in the 05. And despite rumors to the contrary, I do not agree that the shifter has been placed in a better location . I adjusted the seat to where I needed it to be to reach the clutch properly, and my arm was at full extension, elbow locked when I had my hand on the shifter in 1st gear. My Cobra has a closer reach now that I put on the Roush handle :). And the third thing is that those chrome rings are too much -- the dash is much more imposing than on an SN95, and the chrome is very twinkly -- and I was looking at the car in a showroom at night, I can only imagine what it must be like when the sun is shining.

So I'm glad I decided to wait and see what SVT brings out in '07. As far as I'm concerned they still have some issues to work out.
