well i was drving to class to day and when i went across the railroad tracks my car just died.

I tried restarting it, it turns over and the fuel pump turns on, and it has fuel pressure.

I seems like it is not getting any spark. I checked all fuses, they are good, and all connectors around ditributor, and cap and rotor are good.

What could it be this is very frustrating.

help plz

I'm assuming the starter is hitting?

Check your TFI Module.... that funny looking flat box under your CAI. I've heard of them losing connection.

Also have you checked spark at the plugs? Pull one out and see if it's arcing...

Or put a neon tube down by the wires and see if it glows in the dark.

same thing happened to me, car just died, put in a new ignition control module, ignition coil and still no fix. turns out it was the pick up coil inside the distributor. easy fix, only had to pull the distributor to remove old one and replace it. fired right up

Mine did something like this and I cleaned the throttle body and MAF and it ran fine after that. It had nothing to do with the bump in my case. Always check the cheap stuff first LOL.

U said that u had a aode before changing it to 5 speed?
If you had a chip instaled recentlly....try to look at youre computer harnes, make sure its pused in all the way(make sure the screw its also tight)....and if you have a chip put some tape around it to keep it in place... Hope this helps!!!! :spot:

car does not have any kind of chip, although i do need to get it dyno tunned with a chip, maybe for x-mas.

hey guys thanks for the replies, i tride the switch in trunk it was not poped so that wasn't it.

It is getting no spark whatsoever from coil, coil is new, ford motorsport one. rotor and cap are god also, check all wires on ignition module and around coil also.

I am guessing it is the igniton module or the thing in the distributor, local mechanics pick it up about 10 minutes a go.

Ill post when the fugure it out.

P.S
anyone know wher my timing and fp should me set at, been messing around wit it got timing set at 14 and fp at 30 vacumm on, is that too low?

Hey man, no inertia switch, fuel pump, or fuel related system is your problem.
your problem is that you ain't getting spark (as you said)
You need to meassure the coil to make sure is good.
you said you checked all the fuses right? the ones on the inside and outside right?
Then, if your coil checks good, you need to verify that the coil is geting power (12volts) with the key on (green and red wire). If you are not getting power you need to trace those wires to make sure they are ok. If you do get power you need to check the module under the air filter element and the hall-switch in the distributor (I would buy the hall (PIH) switch new since you got to take the distributor apart). If module checks good, you need to verify, the module is getting power...also, make sure your rotor is spining when cranking the engine to make sure it is alright.
I don't want to go in deep with the CCRM yet which is the relay box module for our cars!

As for the fuel pressure, I think is too low, I would say 39-40psi as lon as you have a calibrated air meter with those injectors. But that is just my opinion!
Good luck!

well i found out what it was, my coil is fried, they said i had a short that was from my autometer tach, i dunno, the wire that goes to the coil, i ll get more info later.

gues ill revert back to the stock tack, i dunno, it is off by alot me thinks.

how could this happen, i wired power into were the clock power was, and the ground, and for the lights to light it up, anyone ahve a diagram how they set there tach up?

hlp plz

can some plz tell me hoe they wired there aftermarket tach, i wired mine to the coil and somehow it fried it.

SO i got a new ciol car runs, i was thinking of just getting rid of the tach, how many people run an aftermarket tach, or just go by the stock one?
