I installed a Pro 5.0 shifter in my '04 GT about 3 weeks ago. I always felt a bit of a "crunch" going into third (not a sound...a feel), but it always went in on the first attempt.

This afternoon, I started to hear a buzz coming from the tranny at around 3000 RPM (only under throttle...it stops buzzing when I let off the gas), and I am having trouble shifting from 2nd to 3rd...in fact, it refuses to go into 3rd at high RPM's. I have to let the clutch out and then back in to shift into 3rd. If I shift into 3rd BELOW 3000 RPM's, it will go in (although a bit more resistance than before)...however not at any RPM over 3000. What could be the problem? Now I'm afraid that I may have done something wrong when I installed the Pro 5.0...could some of the old RTV silicon have dropped down into the tranny and ******* it up??

My other concern is...if I take it to the dealership service dept with the Pro 5.0 still on, will they refuse to honor my warrantee?? If I have to re-install the old shifter, so be it...but I'd like to know if itsnecessary BEFORE I go to all the trouble. Also, do you think they'll know if I dont replace the inner boot that I had to cut the center out of to accomodate the Pro 5.0??

I haven't taken the Pro 5.0 shifter off yet to check if I can see anything , I'm doing that tomorrow (but I'm not even sure what to look for)...I'm just wondering if I should put the factory shifter back on before going to the service dept and if I need to order a new inner shifter boot.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
