I'm a 03 svt focus owner itching to get into a '04 cobra. A local dealer has 4 coupes and 5 convertibles still on their lot with the '05's coming any day. I'm wondering what kind of deal I can expect on the coupes. Am I dreaming if I think I can get it for under 30k? I seem to remember that they were really slashing prices on the '03's at the end of last year. Just wanted to give some credit to y'all for having the meanest car out there. Thanks-

you probably should be able to ****** them up for near invoice. they've been on the lot for a while now and they need to move because the 05 GT's are out. BUT, you may run into resistance because there won't be another cobra until 2006 (07 model year)

What is invoice, by the way? I know what it is on KBB, etc, but thats not the "true" invoice, correct?
i think invoice is 32 or 33k...and you can negotiate down from there. for an 04 cobra, i think anything under 30K out the door is a total steal

I had a quote for an 04 cobra vert for a little under 26k. :banana: I started to work up the finances to see if I cold afford it and then I lost my job :bang: glad I didn't jump on it... Oh and this was Near Miami.

I was just quoted $30,000 on a 2004 Cobra coupe by a local Ford dealer in Minneapolis. The list price is $35,000. But Ford is currently offering two rebates: $2500 and $500. Then the Ford dealer threw in a $2000 discount because the 2005s are coming in. I was hoping they would come down a little bit more but there stock is almost gone. Only 4 coupes are left.

26k for a brand new 04 Cobra vert? That seems impossible. They list for 40k.

it is impossible, many people who dont have the money to buy these cars make up things, i work at a ford dealer, and to lose that kind of money on a 04 is rediculous, the best a dealer will do at this time is invoice minus hold back, which is still 29000 and then you pay taxes and thats for a coupe, anything more the dealer would actually LOSE money, also the best priced new 03 ive seen that still remains is 27000. but i dont think there are anymore out there

sticker on these cars arer 36000, and normally on an svt you wouldnt get rebates, and they wouldnt sell for invoice, and theres 3750 total cars this year! so get one while you still can, there wont be many left overs

yup that sounds about right. i was able to get a quote for 28,500 before tax/title/license for a new 04 coupe. but then they were gonna try and get me on the financing.

29,000 after holdback. Then subtract the current 2500 cash incentive and another 500 for military (if you qualify) and another 1000 bonus if you finance through Ford credit. That leaves a purchase price of 25,000. Is that correct? Sounds too good to be true.

sticker=36
invoice=32.5
after holdback=30.5
3500rebates=27k
atleast that is what I calculate.

I saw a yellow coupe 03 with tinted windows for 25900, in Augusta, Ga about a month ago. It only had about 6k on the dash. Too bad I was just there for a short period of time, and had to come back to England. But that dealership lot (Bobby Jones I believe), had 8 04 cobras on the lot including 2 mystichrome, and 3 Competition Orange. But that's in the south though, things are relatively cheaper down there.

I just bought an '04 Cobra last week. I paid roughly $31.7K out the door-taxes and all. It was discounted from $36.8. Unfortunatly, it was the last coupe on the lot. I heard of a guy that managed to get a yellow coupe for $29, but I don't know if that's true or not. There are certainly deals to be made!

Is dealer holdback really that much? Is holdback the same on Cobras no matter what dealership has them or does it vary? 27k still isn't bad. I'm holding out for a slightly higher rebate and/or a factory to dealer incentive.

Dealer hold back on all 04 coupes is 2k to my knowledge. Finding a dealer that would give you all of it, priceless and probably wont happen. It is interesting to hear all of your sightings, there arent any more new cars around here anymore.

I found 21 new '04 Coupes within 300 miles of my location. The ads could be outdated though. I'm under the impression that dealers would be anxious to move the '04 to make room for the '05, even if it means giving up a large portion of their profit, if not all. The longer they have an '04 on the lot taking up space, the more money they'll lose in the long run. Does anyone think Ford will offer dealers a secret incentive for every '04 they move?
