2005 Saleen S281...hmmm...enjoyable??? I'm indifferent at this very minute.

Peep this:

http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/anashow04/anashow1.htm

The front of the car is HOT, but the back of the car looks like they were trying too hard for something unique, or futuristic... almost delorean like. dont like the back (taillights)...

Seems like the mustang also needs a sportier race like steering wheel, or maybe a retro steering wheel like the old days...

I'm diggin it. The wheels look nice and I like the hood, I'm glad Saleen didn't go the hoodscoop route like everyone else. I'd like to see a little big bigger exhaust and a bit smaller spoiler. :nice:

Did they release pricing for these Saleens already? How much do you think they're selling these for?

Straight from the mustangworld article....

"Pricing for the 2005 Saleen S281 starts at around $38,000 for the 3-Valve and just under $45,000 for the supercharged model."

Now seeing better pictures of the car I am starting to like it more. MUCH better then the Roush! (Sorry, but I am still having nightmares about it!) I wish they had some pictures of it from a normal viewing level (as if you were standing infront of it) instead of all those crouched down shots. Even the the ones of it take from on the platform are that low.

My bad, didn't bother reading all the way at the bottom...too caught up with checking out the pics! Thanks.

Wheels: A little too euro importy for me but it works...would love classic muscle 5 stars.

Exhaust tips: Agreed, little winky, sleek and less brawny.

Interior Guage Pods: Cool and fits within the updated context of the interior.

Spoiler: Looks like a huge Frozen Dinner TV Tray...just use the smaller spoiler underneath.

Main Rear Area: I'm disappointed in.
2 element taillights, not a fan. And it looks like they just extended it.

Maybe if an Aftermarket Company can take on the attitude/spirit of the Ford 05 Concept team and enhance Classic Lines in their products so it actually enhances the car instead of being distracting like most of these Aftermarket guys. Someone tell them to keep it simple.

I guess I'm more resigned than indifferent. The 05 concept is still hella tite and just freakin' rocks...so far.

The first time I looked at the Saleen 05' I was like, they could have done better, the second time I was like, sure beats the roush. the third time was the charm, I think this thing looks slick as hell. The front end is not to over done, not to boxy like some of the past saleens, and the back end is kinda like a cheapo version of the S7, kinda long and away fro mthe cockpit. Id like to hear that 500 horsepower version. Anyone know how much the 500+ is gonna run money wise? im guessing 50k or so.

Id like to just get a GT, because you can just add later on what you like from every vendor.

What is it with after market tuners and this new Mustang? I think the Saleen looks almost as bad as the Roush. IMO the Steeda is the best after market version of the '05. The Saleen and Roush are way to over-styled. The new Mustang, like the muscle car era ones it's styled after, just doesn't lend itself to flashy body kits like the fox body 'stangs did. The stock GT and the GT-R look much better than the Roush and Saleen. Hopefully the new Cobra will be closer to the GT-R than the Saleen.

I think it looks great!
