What x-pipe has the best sound?

I personally hate the sound of the BBK Xpipe. It has some sort of tin collector type thing where the X comes together, and it sounds horrible. Im an Hpipe guy myself, but i think no matter what you get, its gonna sound the same. As long as its 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent aluminum tubing, they all should sound the same.

if you were to get a x pipe to go with your flows. then the only one you sould consider is the dr. gas x pipe. other than that go with an h pipe. go to mustangexhaust.com and listen to sound clips. they have a lot of them.

I don't like the sound of an X with chambered mufflers. My buddy had the three chambered flows and a Bassani catted X and it was terrible. He ended up going with Magnapacks with his X. Now it sounds awesome. Loud too! :hail2:
I've got the Bassani X and Bassani cat-back. I really like it. :D If you want the X, get flow-through mufflers. Otherwise, go with an H pipe. You'll be happier. :nice:

i would agree there i had a flowtech x-pipe on the car before and it sounded way better cause it a a true x-pipe(the quality was terrible though, one the flanges bent and i had a terrible leak). dont get me wrong i like the way bbk sounds but it dosrnt have as good of a tone as the flowtech.

i'd go with either a bassani or a dr gas x-pipe, the bassani is expensive but you'll never have to worry about rust cause it is stainless steel

I have a Pacesetter off road X, which was very well priced, fit well, and is a true X, and not a x shaped chamber or box.. I'd buy another one in a second.. rest of exhaust is Magnaflow.

With the stock motor is was very quiet, and on tape I could hardly hear it going down the track.

With the heads and intake, I let it rip in front of my buddies place, spun all thru first and all of second... then let off, turned around, pulled in.. and they all asked me "that was you????? we thought it was a crotch rocket squealing its rear tire.. " with this  look.... And now on video, once the car takes off and starts going thru the gears, it does sound a bit like a crotch rocket.. pretty funny.. I like the sound of it.

I have the following exhaust set up on my notch.

1.75" BBK Ceramic LT headers, 2.5" BBK OR X Pipe, and a Flowmaster American Thunder Cat back.

I have attached a video clip of me doing donuts in my car...I don't think my car sounds like a$$ at all, in fact, it sounds pretty damn good...would some Magnaflow race bullets or Mac Pro Dumps sound better...probably, but an LX with tails, save for tire clearance, just doesn't look right.

I imagine when I throw the Trick Flow Trackheat HCI kit and other supporting hardware on it, it will sound even better.

Enjoy the video.

I'd suggest doing a Right Click, Save As, they're fairly big.
