I made up some plans for my '94 to go behind the rear seats with a plexi cover. I don't have them on this computer, but I can get them tomorrow for you. It's a .dwg file, but I can convert it to a .pdf if you want.

That would be great!! I would really appreciate that.

KAILUZ, do you have any problems with your amps getting really hot? Thats my only concern, but it really looks great. Thats exactly what I want to do with mine. I had subs in the escort that I used to drive, but haven't gottan a rack of anything for this car. I miss subs. :nice:

I don't have the amps in yet (still working on wiring) but heat should not be a problem. The top doesn’t go all the way up the speaker enclosure under the rear window, so air will flow to the trunk area where the subs are going.

As far as weight, its 1/2" MDF and weighs 10 lbs with mounting hardwear. Its the price you pay, although I toyed with the idea of making everything removable, but the wiring is the biggest problem. I thought of using military vehicle/helicopter type connecters/disconnect but its too much of a pain.

I used some pig tails out of a wrecked car and spliced in my existing wires. So now I can unhook everything quickly. The only ones that slow me down are the power and ground, but I'm working on those with some Winston Cup style battery plugs there about $45 but it will be worth it.

all great ideas, the biggest reason I havent built a rack is that everything I looked into doing would make getting the spare out a pain in the butt... Whats the clearance on that setup as far as removal?
