I should have already done this write-up a long time ago but I have been so busy working on my car, job, and family until it ended up on the back burner.
First, let me say that Jim and all the crew at Kenne Bell have done a fabulous job with the new 2.2 for the GT 2V cars. This is going to be a huge hit once it hits the market.. I have the distinct advantage of having the very first GT outside their shop with this blower. I also want to thank Tim and Andy at Modular Power House (MPH) (formerly T&J Performance) for the bang up job they did on the car along with the great tuning.
I must tell you all up front that this car rips. I does not fly, it does not haul azz, it friggin rips….like ripping a sheet of paper in half…that’s how it responds… I’ve had an Strim on it, a Trim on it, and a NOVI 2000 on it that made 650 rwhp and nothing comes close. There’s no comparison…not even close…….This blower made this car completely vicious yet completely drivable. I’m 41 years old and have owned 7 new mustangs and several used ones and have run the gambit of modifications over the years and a have a bit of drag racing experience…..its would take a lot to get me in a car and drive it and get out shaking like the very first time you went to the drag strip…(ya’ll know what I mean)…but that’s what happened…..I just had to walk away from the car shaking my head…..The combination of this blower and MPH race heads and racing short block has created a winning combination worth giving serious consideration. The car on the dyno made nearly 600 rwhp (598) and 547 rwtq nearly all the way across the power band and that was through a non-locking heavy AODE transmission…it pegs the boost gauge like opening a nitrous bottle; pegs it right now! It’ll peg your tail to the seat too.

More importantly it performed well at the track. I was completely disappointed with the fact that on the way to the track the transmission lost 3rd and 4th gear.(this is the 2nd tranny from the same company) That meant that I would only be able to run some 60ft test and perhaps somewhere between 330ft and 1/8 mile times. It turned out that I was having to lift well before the 1/8th mile mark…like 500-600ft. None-the-less I was able to pull a handful of 1.48-1.52 60ft times. Even lifting well before the 1/8th mile the car ran 6.9 1/8 miles and while lifting that early coasted to a 11.98 ¼ mile. This car should have run low 10’s and will soon be a 9 second car…..before this year closes it will.

Now this is by no means the fastest GT on the planet…but it is a very strong showing for these 2 companies and is respectable for a car running a returnless fuel system and retaining every stock option that came on the car including A/C and P/S (except custom seats) with a low street/strip stall converter of only 3000 stall….a car that is not gutted at all although it is lightened a bit with seats and K member. It has a full roll bar too and drove too and from the track…in fact it goes to work with me everyday (everyday that it is not on jack because of the tranny..lol)
If you are considering building a serious hotrod.....give this combo serious condieration.....and then "GET SOME"
Anyway just wanted to get the word out there and let everyone know these guys have a winner…….TONS of potential…..and on a 2 valve

...btw a few pics of the hardware..THE NITROUS WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL AT THE TIME OF VIDS OR RACING.....it is now though

Some of us had the inside track with his buildup, and when Tim was asked about it....he could only say, "wow"

And when Tim is left speechless.....it MUST be nice. :D

Awesome work as always guys, now get some dyno numbers with nitrous. :flag:
