I was wondering what mod do you guys think I should do first. I'm not to sure what power gains I would get with the cams and I think they would be a little safer then Nitrous. But I still like the idea of 100 extra ponies.

I will definately do cams before anything like nitrous, just because they are about 25 rwhp that is there ALL the time. And most cams get gains from about 2800 rpm all the way to redline. I think if I got them, id go with the VT stage 1's.

If this pic is correct, then this install shouldn't be too bad. With this tool, not having to remove the front cover....teh win :nice:

Okay guys for those who have stage 2 cams, how much redline did you all get (guessing the car has a custom tune) I want to add cams to my car and would like to shift a little higher.
Nickthegenius talked to me earlier on another thread I made and he was saying that with his comp270ah's he is able to shift at 62-6300rpms already, compared to the 5500 that we shift at stock...that is NICE. Anyways, he also mentioned that he may be bumping it up to ~6400 to try that out, cuz it still seems to be making alot of power when he shifts. Oh, and you can expect around 30-35 rwhp with the VT stage II's if you match it with a few other basic bolt on's. :nice:

Do you know what type of tune (mail-in or dyno) does Nickthegenius has, I 'm being toying with the idea of cams for a while.

Dyno tuned, he had a problem going lean when he was still on his steeda reflash that he had before the cams, if i remember correctly. I would definitly suggest getting that thing on a dyno after cams, get power and a/f numbers which is nice and you can be 100% positive that your not in danger anywhere. :nice:

One cool thing too is that these numbers of 30-40 HP is Rear Wheel HorsePower. Crank power is more like 40 or 50 and the N2O numbers are almost always Crank numbers so if you are looking at a comparison, cams are alot closer than most believe. I vote for the Cams :D

Id say it all depends are what your final goal for the car is. If you plan to get a blower in the future like a lot of people do, then dont waste your money right now on N/A cams. With n20 you get the good gas mileage when your normal driving, and its not dangerous with a good tune and a window switch. Id hook mine up if I didnt need the money right now..... Also without the "lope" at idle you can surprise the hell outta a lot of people. Also not saying one is better then the other but they are relativly the same cost weather your installing or some1 else is, and when you say the bottle needs filling up, just think of it as the money your saving from having to run 93 gas and burning thru it more often.
