I've been waiting 9 weeks now for my 185 afr heads.
Are these heads worth it?

I just can't see many people willing to wait on these people no matter how great their heads are.

Where the heck did you order them from? I went to their web site and pulled up their vendor list and started calling. Found a set with All Mustang Performance in Arizona, had them in 3 days! I got the 165 non-emissions. They look good. I've never ran any other aftermarket alum. heads, so I can't say if they're better than brand x or not, but they definatly woke up my 289! These heads with a cam made a big difference. I'm going to get a dyno in a couple of weeks to see the difference in HP. Stock put 189hp to the wheels, so well see what happens with this new set up.

Try AMP in Phoenix though, they might have your heads in stock, and they are priced like everyone else.

you may want to try one of the vendors on corral.net in the windsor parts classifieds section. There are a lot of vendors (not private sellers) that usually have them in stock.

There are lots of good options for heads out there. I personally like the Twisted Wedge heads. You could spend the extra money you are spending on the AFRs on a nice port job on those heads and be making more power.

They seem to be the trendy head these days, but I am sure others will work just as well as the 185s.
I second that. I have a set of Canfields on a 331 stroker. Wouldn't have it any other way. Price was right too. These are the cCNC'd chamber, 1.94 valve, 64 cc heads. Got em for $1000 on ebay.
