Is anyone having problems with thier system? My friend has a black V6 and tried to load a disc and got a CD ERROR displayed, his system is locked up, he has the 500. Mine seams to skip or fast forward for a second or two on a few discs I have, mine is the 1000. The dealer has no clue and the techs dont know ***** about the system. I dont want them working on my car.

The solution that worked for me....

was to look up the "radio" fuse in the owners manual, then pull the fuse(s) that have to do with the radio/cd player. It resets the system and has worked for me in the past. :nice:

We don't know **** about it because it's BRAND ****ING NEW. Unless you get the engineers that made it, you won't find ANYONE that knows exactly about this. The difference is we have the ability to call and have internet web cam confences with the engineers to figure this problem out. No one else on earth has that available to them.

The techs here didnt even know who made the system, maybe they dont have the tellicom thing. Until they figure it out I Wont take mine in. I understand its Brand F****ing new, just wanted to know if any one else who OWNED ONE might be having problems

I got a disc error only when using a bootleg CD. With store bought CDs I have no problems.

not sure about his, mine are are original cd's.

I have the same problem (shaker 500). The very first disc I put in last night after I got my car did the jumping around thing. It doesnt seem like a normal skip. The cd I used was the new Bowling for Soup CD that had some media on it that you can look at on your computer... I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Also, when trying to eject that Bowling for Soup CD, it gave me problems, like it couldn't get to the 1st slot to eject it.

This morning, I also got a the Bad CD error when trying to play a CD-R with mp3s on it. That same CD worked perfectly find in my old car.

Oh so your name is Nick.....
Oh so your a Ford Technician....
No wonder why you are so NEGATIVE in all your replies...
It is B/C you have to fix all the nice new Mustangs...including MACH's...and you dont have 1 for yourself!

If i went to your dealership and you spoke to me with an attidude (like you have here on the forum) id put my foot in your ass.....and smack you like a women!

I am having similar problems with the Mach 1000 in my 04. I wonder if they are related? Does anybody know if it is supposed to play mp3's? The owners manual does not say definatively. You would think for 1300 dollars the thing would have no problems.

Thank You, My exact feelings......I couldnt have said it better myself :nice:

Since you want to pick on ford technicians Ill chime in (ex technician). Except ill be a bit nicer.

It is under warranty........ nine times out of ten we just swap them. In a couple months once parts are readily available go back, complain and I can allmost guarentee you will end up with a new headunit.

That wasnt so hard, and I can guarentee any technician at work wouldnt mouth off to a customer. But on this board here, we can alittle :)

Goodluck with your new car, and as one has said, try resetting it.

Charles

Thanks, thats fine for me but my friends has 3 discs in it and the unit will not even function, dont think he wants to wait a couple of months to listen to CDs. He is taking his car in this weekend.

I wasn't being pissy at all. I was stating you have no other choice, and I hear this all the time... "I don't want them working on my car" Like you can get it done somewhere else??? lol And I highly doubt you'd smack me like a woman. I don't have to deal with you retard people with your retard problems in person. :) I don't ever see you. We have people that deal with people just like you mach271. :)

Uh, I think you're getting a little off track here, Nick. :nonono: You say you are a Ford Tech, fine. And that you have VTC to Ford, great. Are they telling you anything? Are you having the kinds of problems getting through to Ford that those poor b*stards with the "Quality Hold" cars are having? :bang:

It's so much cheaper in the long run for the company to get it right the first time, and if someone were to figure the problem, whether it's an overvoltage to the head unit or a misinstalled dampener or a defective chip, they would be sitting pretty with management.

So if you haven't worked on one yet, just say so. If this is a recurring defect and you just haven't figured out the problem yet, we'd like to know that too.

You might even read something on this forum that would save you some time at work, so lighten up on the "retards" that keep you employed, and remember that the people that give them the impression that Ford doesn't know anything about it's products are the salesmen -- that tell folks there are no manual trannys, or that $3K over MSRP is OK cause the Mustang is a limited production car.

And of course, guys like you, who say its brand new, so tough luck.

The Shaker decks say MP3 on the front right side, if it doesnt advertise it I doubt it.

I say retards pointed towards Mach271, and no one else. You wouldn't believe the "problems" people have until you do this job. "Do you hear that rattle/squeek/noise" Just things that waste your time. No, I have not seen nor heard of this problem, but the best thing to do is bring it to the dealer, and if they don't find the problem, they'll just replace the whole friggin thing. When it comes to things we have no idea about, ie, new cars, radios, components, we just call the engineers and describe the problem, and 9 times out of 10, they know what the problem is. And it's fixed. Cut them some slack. They're job is to fix your problem, and nothing else. Remember, we dont' turn you away for no reason. If I don't log something I've done on your car, I DON'T GET PAID. So I WANT to find something wrong. If you're sent away with us saying "there is nothing wrong" it's because we literally found, drum roll please, NOTHING.

Ok, I'm going to chime in. I had a 93 vette, and it always had problems with cd's that I burned. I realize the car was made 11 years ago. But this is what I was told about the vette. Its partially the sensitivity of the laser. I was also told cds you buy in the stores have a deeper burn than cds you actually burn on your computers. Some people I talked to said you may have problems with the cheap cds that you burn. You know the ones you get on spool. You get 100 cds for 10 bucks. I have bought a little pricier blank cds and that seemed to help. So try this out before you take your car to the digruntled ford tech. :bang:
