well after the mustang sat for over a week I replaced the fuel pump relay and what do you know, the fuel pump kicked in and the car cranked up.

Now..... when the car started, all I could hear coming from the passenger side of the engine was "CLACK..CLACK...CLACK...." The noise was pretty loud but after about ten minutes of listening to it, it grew faint and finally disappeared.

Anyone elses car do this after sitting a while? I take it that it's normal for a car with 156000 miles on it? I plan on switching the heads, intake and throttle body this Summer so any advice on how to fix this now would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Should be ok..

This is typical.. Basically the lifters bleed down from sitting and once you fired the car the rockers were loose causing the noise until the lifters pumped back up which made the noise fade until it was gone.. This is typical..
