Well I finally did it, I was the happiest guy in the world today.
12.87 @ 109.98
60 foot = 1.95
The track was really cold so it was hard to hook up even with a long smoky burnout. My clutch is toast, no second gear chirp, just a nice clutch smell. Air temp was a nice 50 degrees.
First run:
13.10 @ 108.2 1.99 60 foot
Second run:
13.000 @ 106.8 1.91 60 foot
After this run, I said more swear words in 10 seconds then I did in the last 27 years of my life. one thousandth of a second from 12's!
third run:
12.87 @ 106.4 1.91 60 foot
Fourth run:
12.87 @ 109.98 1.95 60 foot
I let the car sit for over an hour before this run, and the clutch caught good in second gear and I actually got a little chirp.
My friend just gave me a set of rims with ET streets for next weekend, hopefully I can figure out how to launch the car a little better. The clutch is so unpredictable its hard to determine how to let it loose. I'll post up the 1/8th mile times when I get back home, I'm currently celebrating my accomplishment at a local brewery.
I know I say this in half of my posts, but this car has 170,000 miles on it, with the stock short block, stock clutch and stock T5 and is driven daily to and from work.
I'd like to thank all of you on stangnet for all of your help and encouragment over the years, I owe part of this accomplishment to you. Several of you pm'd me with suggestions the last few weeks without me asking.
