Anyone have buyers remorse yet?

To me there is just no value comparison. You simply will spend 3 times as much money trying to mod an '05 GT to get close to the power of a pulley'd/ported Cobra. People here talk about better starting points.. well an internally forged 4v 4.6 is exactly that. Wait for the next Cobra if you really want a new Mustang for performance and not a better ride.

Yes, I understand where you're coming from, and you are right to a certain extent. The the entire premise of that argument, from a more general outlook, is a real slippery slope. There's a "point", and everybody's point is different, at which the whole going fast for $X amount of money goes too far. By that following that logic down the graph, there's no justifying an '03-04 Cobra when you can buy a straight and solid 79-93 rolling shell for $500 bucks, add a fresh forged-piston performance 302, a C4, a Torsen diff, and 200 h.p. of n2o, and run 10's for a fraction of the cost. Would you want to daily drive such a ride? Hell no. But everybody has their limit, their point where just going fast isn't going to compensate for all the other compromises. What I'm getting at is that there is no real "right" or "wrong" to this argument, it's all personal opinion. The national debate on abortion rights has a better chance of finding a common resolution than whether an 03-04 Cobra makes more sense to build on than an '05 GT with all-new everything backing up the powertrain.

If you like the looks and want a more comfortable ride to work then of course there is no better Mustang to buy than the 2005!!. But if you want a 4v 4.6 supercharged with forged internals + 6spd tranny to start with, for the same price, and are willing to sacrifice the bumps of an old chassis, then the Cobra is it. It's worth pointing out the differences for those interested in modding.

I dunno,,, Roush isnt a big deal to me,,,,
My dealer has 2 yes TWO brand new Roush Stage 2 Mustangs (Both 2003. one red one Black) and they havent had any luck selling them,,, problem? the price,, theyre' selling it for 38.000 somethin,,
I mean who would want to pay that much for a 2003 GT that was just a bit imporved by Roush? sure it looks nice,, but for that kind of money I think most people would rather get a Cobra, or used Saleen,,,,,or an 05 and spend the remaining 10K in upgradin their 05....

I totally agree. Roush is a ripoff. I hope to God SVT does not die because those tasteless fools will be taking over likely.. the 03 will be the last Cobra I ever buy if that is the case.
