Alright guys i have always been a ford guy for all my life! first off sometime next spring i'm going to buy another car now i have own 3 stangs to date.On the other hand i like certain other cars like porsches that the only other car i would buy beside a ford or/jag. So i've asked around and said if u had a choose between a stang 05(13.6-13.8et-est),cobra 03(12.6et) or boxster s 01(13.8et). what would u pick most say 05stang, on the other hand a cobra because noting like a cobra and then u have boxster s because of the ride ect... and the name say it all just like cobra! I have said to myself everyday that i always wanted a cobra or/and porsche, but i love the new mustang! one thing for sure i will love to own in a few yrs the cobra 07 used of corse cant afford new. So i would greatly like your input on the car u would choose & why of these 3 cars thank u!

I think for $82,450 I'd buy a loaded Mustang GT convertible AND a Mustang Cobra Coupe and put the extra $10,000 in the bank.

i would go with the 03 cobra.... its always going to be a limited car, no matter what, and its straight up faster than the 2005..... the 2005 i will agree looks faster, but in a couple years, its going to be everywhere... i mean, last week, i hadnt seen one, and today, i saw 2 on the same road.... so obviously its spreading quick, and that means soon they will be everywhere, whereas a 2003 cobra wont be everywhere.... and a porsche boxter? GAY no matter how you look at it... that and the cayanne were the worst ideas porsche ever had...

a boxster is a porsche with panties. i was not impressed with them by any means.

I was impressed, but then I actually drove one (well, two - a standard and an S.) A few hours on the country twisties, then 249 km/h on the 'bahn between Hof and Regensburg. Solid as a rock, rode on rails, and that panty-clad girl can SING. The motor sounds gorgeous when the Rs are up there. I still wouldn't buy one though, just not my style. Look for me in a MRT Interceptor in the Spring....

A used Z06 C5 can be had for low 30's,I'm still debating between that and an 05 stang.I just can't see driving a corvette every day though. The corvette would hold its value better too,not to mention it would out perform almost anything on the street.Deep down I am a Ford guy though, naturally to rebel against my Dad who is a chevy man. The new stangs have so much potential its not even funny...decisions decisions :bang:

i've never ridden in a boxster but i hate how they look. people also make fun of them, the poor man's Porsche. like people who buy BMW 318's just to say they have a BMW.
:notnice:

That's a pretty uninformed statement.

The Boxster S (not the Boxster) is basically as fast as the entry level 911, cheaper, and is a cabriolet. It's the best damn deal that Porsche had. In fact, Porsche had to differentiate by adding more ponies to the 911 later, because the Boxster was a better deal.

If you've had 3 mustangs, get the Boxster, variety is the spice of life. The Boxster and 911 are cars to own before you die,and you can get nice examples of both for nothing used, the cost of owning is high though.
Just curious, all of you boxster bashers, can one of you guys actually give a valid reason why this world-renowed car is somehow a lesser porsche or car???? Have any of you actually ever drove, much less sat in one or are you guys just repeating what some other ignorant goofball said. Do any of you know anything about porsches? Please, someone tell me,how is it a lesser porsche??? I'm dying to hear!

Well, the only way to get at the Boxster engine is to put it on a lift, which seems pretty lame to me. If I wanted a Porsche I'd buy an air cooled 911--probably a 993.

Why are we talking about Porsches, though? They cost a bit more than Mustangs last time I checked...

my best friend has an 03 boxster s, its one of the most fun cars ive driven. its handling is unbelievable and it grabs every1s attention. for the money however id get an 05 gt and mod the hell out of it :D

Hmmm... The boxster is a fundamentally different car compared to the stangs. Its a roadster. The attributes are 2 seats, light, excellent power to weight ratio and loves taking stabs at corners. evaluating a boxster by its et is like evaluating the stang on trunk size. The car was built for a different purpose. If you have had 3 stangs, then the boxster will give you a very different experience. You may not agere with it, but at least you would have driven one of the most well-engineered luxury sports roadsters in recent years. Boxster.

Some people need to put down the crack-pipe before posting! As a former Porsche enthusiast, I need to tell you that I routinely put Mustangs of all flavors away at the racetrack in my mid-80s Carrera in BONE-STOCK ATTIRE! These Mustangs are basically straight liners comparitively to their German counterparts. That being said, some Boxsters and MOST Boxster S's put me and most other 911s thru-1994 away at the track. On the streets, a Porsche is going to make you look stupid if the road has any curves OR if you start from a speed greater than say 30mph. These German sports cars are about precision, balance, and power-to-weight....they are the Surgeons of the automotive world. Give'em respect, they've earned it and continue to keep cars like the Mustang and Corvette on the road! It will be interesting to see how my new 05 Mustang GT competes with the likes of these Porsches at Road Atlanta, which is where I like to play :D . I'll let ya'll know, but for now, don't be a wannabe...own what ya got-a fabulous muscle car with heritage, killer good looks, noises and vibrations that will bring the big "O" to the ladies that ride in them, all for the cost of your average Buick/Oldsmobile!! And you can support your country by buying American. It's all good as long as it INSPIRES YOU........

Well, that Boxster S was built from the ground up as a sports car, like the Corvettes. The mustang is built as a sporty passenger car. No comparison. They comprimise the sports car-ness for things like backseats, and reasonable trunk space, a ride comfortable enough for a secretary, and a price they can target at young new drivers. But I do see reasonably miled used Boxsters for prices in the mid twenties. Definitely a good deal if you want a pure sports car, and can live with the fact that it's a roadster. Driving it in the northeast or someplace else with heavy-duty winters would be a pain. Interior noise can be a pain. Driving on bad roads will be a pain. Long trips in it could be a pain. But a curving set of turns will be a true pleasure. :D
