Mustang Tuning Catted X-Pipe

pypes said that they were going to raise the price of their products after the SEMA show this year. I guess to get more money for advertising and to maybe pick up more retailers. it was a great deal at 280 though. they had posted a few times on this board about it.

their website says 284.99

Yeah it states $284.99 with free shipping...maybe the site is not yet updated

Oh wait you know what...it didn't state free shipping when I started this thread, so I added on $50 to the price, but I now see it as free shipping...sorry for the mixup. So sounds like it's a quality piece. Any issues with rust on the aluminized steel?

i installed mine a few days ago.

unforunatly i had fitting problems. the drivers side tube was right on the transmission crossmember. i tried to bend the tubing (since it's a 2 piece on that side), but the damn bolt flange on the manifold prevented it from starting off it. so a friend of mine had to grind down the part of the crossmember it was hitting on about 1/4". so far it's gone, no more rattling.

but it does sound hella sweet though. i love it. really sounds racey. definatly louder than stock, but not too bad at cruising. idle has a nice gurgle to it now. i'll get sound clips now since i got the rattle gone. in the 2 days i've had it, i've already had 2 compliments. :nice:

I have a Mustang Tuning catted X. Mine had no fitment problems and sounds great.

I looked at the cross section compred to a Magnaflow x pipe, and they are pretty different. The Magnaflow has so much more room for flow. But, that is why the Magnaflow costs almost $500!

I'm happy with the way my MT Catted X sounds.

And yes, it is the PypesExhaust X pipe.

Red, The Pypes Siamese X design purposely uses a smaller crossover opening for effective scavenging. MagnaFlow uses a clamshell design crossover. The differences in horsepower gains and flow are minimal either way. In fairness to Magnaflow, their crossover is stainless and ours is aluminized. That accounts for some of the price difference. The rest is just the fact that we are fairly new and want to make sure we get your attention and encourage you to try our products.

I have the mustangtuning/pypes off-road x-pipe and love it. Fitment was great and install went easily once I got that darn stock pipe off. I do have a small exhaust leak between the midpipe and catback but I just need to get under the car and tighten up the bolts. I would buy another pipe for a new car if I ever get one. Buy it, you won't regret it. :nice:
