Blower and driving like stock

yeah part throttle driving was always weird reminded me of a carb car..

Who has a supercharger and worries about part throttle driving? I have the steeda/vortech kit, and unless you give it WOT, you can't really tell it's there except for the whine. I think my other mods have made it worse as a daily driver than the supercharger did.

well they got it right on the cobra why cant they get it right on the GT..
the GT isn't supercharged so it's not like they 'got it wrong'

i was always told/read that your car will drive like stock with a supercharger unless you get into the higher RPMs. with a turbo it's even more like stock if you drive not crazy.

:stupid:

I think o3redfire is right. No offense, but you are running 9 psi of boost with an o/r x-pipe, etc. and are only making 318rwhp. I am running 9psi with an o/r h-pipe and I am making 410 rwhp and mine is completely fine at part throttle. It's just like stock. It idles the same and drives the same, just got alot more power.

His lower horsepower levels have got nothing to do with the tune. Allen’s in general don't make as much peak horsepower as a KB or a centrifugal. They still utilize an Eaton, which is stone reliable, but make a fair bit of heat and therefore are not as efficient. They make a ton of off-idle torque and anyone who I've ever met who's got one, feels as though they have perfect drivability, part throttle, or otherwise. So, with that respect, yes, I think you may be in need of a tune. AED tends to tune their kits a little on the "safe" side and as such it may be slightly affecting your driveability.

I'll give you that. Roots blowers do make less peak rwhp than centrifigal and twin screw blowers. BUT!!! with a better tune, you most always get more hp. If the tune is bad enough to get horrible part throttle driveability, then there is more likely much more power available when properly tuned. Yes, as you said, not as much as a twin screw or centrifigal, but definitely more power.

Yes, I agree a few more ponies can and would be made available with a more accurate tune, but likely no more than 10 or so. I didn't mean to come off as though your point was invalid, I was just clearing up the misconception that everyone thinks that it's standard practice for a 9psi set up to make 400rwhp. This is true in most cases, with Twin screws, (which are admittedly more efficient blower) and centrifugals (which in my opinion, tend to by dyno queens most of the time and don't put near the power they make on paper, to the pavement) but the small M-90 Eaton does have it's limits and his power levels are pretty typical for a stock set-up.

No I have a perfect dyno tune done by the best guy in northern cali.. byron.. He got ever but of power he could out of it.. he told me I lost power in the mid range part throttle due to the fact that he had to back off timing to prepair the engine for full boost because you get instant boost and you can blow the engine..

Call him and ask why it doesn't drive so well...

i have had my 6# Kennne Bell in for less then a week now. It is my daily driver. Except for a little extra noise, i really dont think it feels that different. Except for the fact that i could drive around all day in one gear.
