More power than your average bolt on is going to give him. Headwork/Cams, Forced induction, displacement, or nitrous. Don't see him cracking 110mph any other way.Gloveperson said:I don't see him beating my 110 trap speed. What will he need for that?
Yes what did you do to your Z28?codyGT said:What do you have done to your Z28?
if he can get a P&P and stage 2 cams, that will give him a lot! definately needs to look into to that b/c without that it will be tough.Gearbanger 101 said:More power than your average bolt on is going to give him. If thats with drag radials or slicks he should trap at about 104 or 105 if he can really shift. It also depends on the intake. It will be lower if he goes with the Bullitt intake than if he goes with the P51 intake which has been proven to definitely increase trap speed. Your buddy needs to lok into cams and heads if he plans on trapping over 110....or a simple 100 shotGloveperson said:Lid, Catback, pro 5.0, short stick, CAI, panhard rod, rear lower control arms, LS6 intake manifold, ASP underdrive pulley, ported tb, sub-frame connectors
That sucks that he won't be able to trap higher than me though
What would he trap at with say..
4.11 gears, CAI, long tubes, ORXP, pullies, suspension work, generic catback, throttle body, intake manifold

Agree'd, that's why I listed it in his "need to do" list.....98PIstang said:if he can get a P&P and stage 2 cams, that will give him a lot! definately needs to look into to that b/c without that it will be tough.

Gloveperson said:Ok, I told him that it will be quite difficult for him to beat me at the trap speed, so he will just not worry about it and save up for a blower later down the road.
However, he has another question. It involves some basic "power adding" mods. I read the sticky about the good power adding mods, so this is what I came up with. Let me know if these are good or not [mod will be in bold]
1) I noticed that everyone said a CAI was pretty much an apearance mod, so he will just get a drop in K&N filter.
2) A catback and x-pipe will yield good gains. He likes the sound of the Magnaflow Magnapack catback and their catted X-pipe. His only question is will the X-pipe move the cats?
3) Steeda Underdrive pulley plus the timing adjuster.
4) Pro 5.0 Shifter
5) 4.11 Gears
So I guess the other questions as listed above are if the X-pipe moves the cats and where do you buy the timing adjuster
Thanks again guys!!!

Gloveperson said:Hmm, that is surprising that it moves the cats since it is seems to be for the stock manifolds, but ok..he will just have to take them off for inspection. In case he doesn't feel like doing that (he has never picked up a wrench his life..I expect to be doing all of the work) are there any aftermarket mid pipes that do not move the cats? The Mac H-pipe for example?
haha, ok. Won't make that mistake again <--that thing is awesome lol
