I was reading the thread about the stolen '02 GT. I was wondering if anyone has a special type of security on their cars. I have heard of people putting a switch that cuts the power to the fuel pump. Anyone have any other good ideas?

I'm not sure what we can do. However, that case was a car jacking. which, nothing can prevent. " Car Jacking on my pops and they took his Stang... CA 4VCN500 Keep an i out my people"

Forgot about the car jacking part. I talking about when people steal cars the old fashion way and not car jacking. I am just want to know some good ideas for car security.

I use a hidden starter circuit kill switch. It's easy to install (the wires you need are already there at the top of the clucth pedal assembly).

Won't stop a carjacker if the car is already running. But, once he/she turns it off, it won't start again.

Im working on a high voltage shock system when armed and someone touches the body. Only problem is Im afraid my kids will get hurt by it.

The hidden switch is a pretty good idea. Because it would take some time for someone to figure it out and try to locate it.. Most car thieves arent the brightest in the world anyways. But if they tear out the lock or bust the window out your still screwed in some ways!

Nothing is gonna help you against a carjacking except your friends Smith and Wesson, or Heckler and Koch. Even a killswitch probably won't help since a 'jacker will probably see you flip the switch.

Not when there is no obvious switch to flip. My switch is a moomentary-type, hidden behind the trim. I deflect the plastic slightly with my knee to operate it. It's automatic now and I do it without thinking while turning the key. Friends have watched me, know there is a kill switch, and still can't figure it out.

The fuel pump switch idea I got from a TV show. I think it was Horsepower TV or something. They put a switch underneath the driver seat. The switch cuts the power to the fuel pump. My friend says to pop the hood and disconnect the battery. I think that would be too much of a pain.

I have the SCT 4 position chip, only position 0 has a tune on it. Positions 6 and 7 are scramble. The car wont start in the scramble modes, the car doesnt know what to do.

I dont know why they call it a 4 position chip when there are 8 or so positions

Well to start with, your 04 has the PATS system installed. Basically it is a coded chip in the key that sends it's code to the PCM when ever the key is first turned on. If the code doesn't match, the starter and fuel system is shut down. It is a pretty fool proof system and the old screwdriver will never start your car. I also installed an alarm system with starter cut off so you need the remote to eliminate that. No flashing led on my dash. I don't like warning them that it has an alarm. The surpirse element makes it harder for them. Bottom line is, if they want it, they'll take it. It's just a matter of how hard you make it for them. Good luck.
