How much weight saved by removing seats.

I want to know how much weight my 01 Cobra will save by getting a rear seat delete kit and replacing the front seats with race seats. I hear the front seats are pretty heavy especially the drivers seat since it has that motor to move it automatically.

i think the rear seats are 33lbs or something, the fronts maybe are 20 a piece?

i probly saved around 80 lbs from my car, but that is without a rear seat delete and getting very very light seats.

My son and I just did the rear seat delete on his 04 GT. The total weight removed was 43 pounds and we did not weight the Top Line Rear Seat Kit that was put back in. The weight removed included the seats, child seat brace, lap belts, shoulder belts, lower seat mount clips and sound deadner pad. Can't help you with the Race Seats but I am intrerested in that savings too.

That weight reduction site is cool. 43 pounds on the rear seats ain't much it isn;t really worth it to dump em unless u plan on gutting out the whole car.........

I know most of you are straight line racers but I will post this anyway. Removing the rear seats in a road race car is bad. Mustangs are very front heavy already. Removing weight in the rear just makes it worse. (over steer)
Very good trick is to remove the battery and replace it with two 6 volts that can be mounted in the rear bumper. Optima makes some nice 6 volt gels that work great!
