Well...too be honest I sold the car because I had way to many cars at the time and my wife was ready to give me the boot. At the time I had an 02 mustang, an 03 evo, 02 Maserati and a 2002 wrx wagon. I do miss the stang but it was time to move on to bigger and better toys.LOL

LOL....so did your wife give you the boot?

Nope...I did not get the boot. She doesnt know that I want the S281 e yet so you never know I still might get the boot next Spring. I am down to two cars(89 911 speedster and an 04 GTO). I plan on selling the 89 speedster and buy the saleen. Anyone want to buy a GTO too? That one is going to be a tough sell...I will have to dig deep to get out of that car.

Here is the problem with the Saleen; you have a car that is the slowest out of all the tuner Mustangs in supercharged form which is the only Saleen worth buying. The natually aspirated one with only 25 extra HP and about 200 extra pounds is not worth it from a performance standpoint. The supercharged models (sans the S281 Extreme which is/was ridiculously priced when you can get a C5 Z06 and blow its doors off and the new Z06; fuggetaboutit!!) cannot compare to the numbers that the Sean Hyland, Steeda and Roush run. All run 12's off the showroon floor and are comparable to an 03/04 Cobra performance wise. It will be the same with the new model. Stedda already claims getting 350 HP at the crank with boltons on an 05 GT which will be priced lower than a Saleen non supercharged model. The supercharged version of the Steeda, Roush and Sean HYland will more than likely have 425 to 450 HP since they were able to get 400 out of the 2002 and up. (Roush is underated at 385 and both Steeda Q400 and Sean Hyland S2 put down 400-410 HP) Also, you see more 99+ GTs with Saleen kits on them that it is kinda overkill and you will more than likely see the same with the 05 GT. Not to bash Saleen because I kinda like the looks (except for the 20" wheels and that damn spoiler) BUT being priced at 45K+ is too close to C6 territory. 2007 is the year that most of us are waiting for with the new Cobra and what it brings to the table.....

The Saleen comes with much more than just wheels, and 25 more hp and a body kit.
It comes with a new shifter, new interior trim, HID headlights, SFC's, and Saleens full suspension package. I also believe they change up the brakes. They also have a very tick exhaust on this car. I have seen some info on it and it seems to be a VERY nice setup. Try to add all that for 10K and you will be pretty surprised on how all of that adds up. Especially if you pay to have it installed.

True that it is but when you option it out, you will get a car that is over 45K and squarely in the same price range as a Vette. As much as I love Mustangs, the new C6 Vette is a a better car and will out perform it hands down based on weight bias alone. Saleen will be giving up close to 500lbs or more (Saleen body kit and 20" wheels/C6 has 19's) but withe the same HP numbers. Torque number will be slightly higher with 425 for the Saleen but there have been too many sories about Saleen's HP/TQ numbers being "overrated" and conversely, GM's numbers being underrated. The Saleen will have trouble outperforming the standard GTO with 400HP, no less the Judge with 500HP. Saleen is a nice car but when you piss in the weeds with the bigger dogs, you need to be able to bring some bigger balls...And the Saleen supercharged model will still be outperformed by the other tuners, Roush, Steeda and Sean Hyland and neither of those packages will be anything to sneeze at with suspension, brakes, et al.
