There was a special on travel channel last night about the 05 mustang and corvette. They said that the flatrock plant puts out 1500 cars per day.

That's 54,000 cars since I put in my order.

Where the F is my car!

Remember, Flatrock also builds Mazda 6s. If that 1,500 is total daily production, then a large number of them are Mazdas.

Nice, I order mine back in Sept. Where the !@@# is mine too?

The travel channel has their #s screwed up. The maximum capacity of AAI is 282,000 vehicles per year. There are about 240 working days / year. That = about 1,175 cars per day.

Right now the ratio of Mustangs to M6s is 3:1 which = about 880 Mustangs per working day.

Note that this is base on 2 x 10 hours shifts per day.

That number still comes up to about 29,920 MUSTANGS since I put in mt order. Do you think they have delivered 29,920 cars this month?

There is no way to answer that question because I do not know when you placed your order, nor do I know when your dealer actually sent the order into Ford.

Remember there are only 20 working days per month, so @ 881 Mustangs per day that would be 17,620 '05 Mustangs manufactured during the last month. In addition, take about 10% of that total away because those are export cars to Canada and other counties where the Mustang is sold. That leaves about 16,000 made for the US market.

It was 10/27 deposit paid and order placed. I have been in every other day in the last two weeks to check. That makes 34 days so that would be 29,954.

check mate

I'm not trying to argue it just bafles me that they have built that many cars i 34 days and nobody knows anything about my car.

Love in the brotherhood!

You need to read what I've been posting.

Order placed on 10-27. Today is 12/3. There have been ONLY 25 working days between 10-27 and today 12-3. Thats's 22,025 cars. assuming that there have not been any production problems that have slowed the line. And it assumed that they are still working overtime (10 hour shifts).

You should also find my posts on another thread about how the dealer allocation system works. If your dealer has already used up their allocations for your model and options, you may have a long wait.

that and im sure there are more orders placed in a day they they can make im sure there is a back up of orders that have been placed but not built yet because other orders came before then!! hate to be rude but there are guys who ordered in may that just got their cars so you might be in for a long wait!! especially if you ordered iup in your car since there is a hold on all mustangs with iup since suppliers have a shortage or parts!!! hope you can wait it out patiently!

I ordered my car on Sept. 15 and got the V.I.N. for my car on Nov. 11. Car was supposed to be built on the 29th. then got pushed to the Dec. 2nd, and now pushed back again to the Dec. 6th

So, be glad you dont know anything about your car. Cause having to find out that your car isnt being built and got pushed back sucks. I'ld rather hear nothing and then have them call me and say the car is ready to be picked up.

Dude do you work for ford or something all I'm doing is a little venting cause I want this car so bad!

Also My dealer has 8 cars on order and to this date the only cars that have shown up are 4 v-6's. So the allocation for gt is yet to be filled, or the allocation system really sucks!

I don't work for Ford, dude. All I was trying to was to take you out of your emotional state and put you into a factual reality mode.

Sorry that you haven't made allocation, yet, but if you dont' want to hear the answer, don't ask the question.

if you don't work for ford where are you getting your information from? in other words how are you establishing your "factual reality mode"? and further more just because you have an answer doesn't mean it is correct.

i agree with madfish . its best if i just wait for the call. all this specualtion is enough to cause insomia.

I ordered my 05 Mustang GT Premium on 10/20, and when I went in to pick up my DORA and VIN on 11/4 I was told my car was scheduled for build on 10/27, but when I called Ford I was told my car was on a Temporary Delay in Production that lasted until this week.

The latest news on my car is that the it's been serialized and is waiting for scheduling (whatever that means).

nope it said 1500 Mustangs a day ,,,,i seen it too...

I've seen it too and they said 1500 cars, not Mustangs. They also said it takes 20 hours to build a new Stang. Conversely it takes 33 hours to build a C6 Corvette (not that anyone really cares here about the vette, but the feature on the travel channel was showcasing the new Mustang and vette).
