Powerdyne superchargers?

How much power is the powerdyne 6psi kit make on a stock motor? And how much with a pulley change? I'm looking at cheap supercharger kits and trying to decide between all the starter kits.

On a stock 302 HO....around 260-270rwhp, give or take. 9psi should be good for a little over 310-315rwhp....or at least from what I've seen, this seems to be the consensus.

FWIW, DONT buy their belt drive one, big POS. My buddy had one and within his first 500 miles it had to go back to them 3 times because of a blown belt

Everyone knocks the powerdyne cause of its belt.. well, here it is.. A rebuild on a paxton costs 725.. If a belt breaks on a powerdyne, the car can still be driven. Gates sells a kevlar belt for this blower for 45 bucks.. Anyone who sends the blower back to them for a belt change should not be using a supercharger.. It takes less than an hour to rebuild the blower, and anyone with the slightest knowledge on turning wrenches can do it.. a full rebuild kit costs 110 bucks.. I know a guy that went 65000 miles on the belt.. then changed it, JUST TO BE SAFE.. Plus.. powerdyne has no oil lines, no resoviour, cooler air temp. silent operation, and easy install.. It boggles me to no end that ppl. diss the powerdyne.. Id rather rebuild myself for cheap rather than sending out and having the car down for weeks.. just my .02 cents..

Like I posted above, my friend didnt make 1,000 miles from his first three belts in his powerdyne. I would have sent it back too, it was BRAND NEW After that, it went about 15k, he rebuilt twice after it grenaded before deciding to go to a vortech. If powerdyne was soooo great as you mention, everyone would have one

Well, this particular Poerdyne model was never meant to be a heavy hitter anyway. They’re Silentdrive belt driven set-ups were designed as an introductory blower. So in that sense, I think they’re being unjustly criticized when trying to be compared to a NOVI or an S-TRIM. If anything the old Paxton SN-XX series would be a closer comparison, which in this case, the Powerdyne is a better blower than. Everything I’ve seen lately, show’s that the belt breakage issues associated with this blower was isolated to earlier models and the company has since then solved this problem.

If I was looking for a nice, inexpensive, quiet, efficient entry level centrifugal blower, I’d go with a Powerdyne too.

Also, with the Powerdynes, you don't have to tap a hole in your oil pan for any oil lines like with the Vortechs. Just my 2 cents.

You wont find it cheaper than that. On ebay, that company gives u and option between vortech sc and novi 1000. Get the vortech, plus that company gives you choice of either a free 255 fp or a FMU I think. Best deal youll find.

Here's some reviews on the Powerdyne, it made my decision. Lots of problems with customer service, bearings, belts, and brackets. I have the Novi1000, but it's sitting in the living room waiting for my lazy butt to go put it on.

I had my powerdyne 6lb kit for about 9 months before selling it. I bought it new and had put about 8K miles on it without any problems whatsoever. Along with typhoon intake, longtubes, 24lb inj it ran in the mid 12's conistantly. I'd say I was in the 300rwhp range?? I was toying with stepping up the boost but I decided to just sell my powerdyne, swap my cylinder heads with the money, then buy a bigger blower later on.

But remember, boost is addicting and even if 6lbs sounds like enough now it won't be for long, and you'll be wanting more. If I were to do it all over I would have went with the vortech in the first place for the higher psi capabilities.
