How long before "WAX" on the new 05?

I would think right away should be ok. I always wax my new cars soon after I get them (I've had 5). Especally with winter coming. I would imagine any good quality wax would be ok. Personally, any wax thats easy to wipe off is good for me. :D I use super hard shell for years now with no problems. :nice:

factory paint is a different beast than "you just got it painted" (wether MAACO  or a professional) paint. Wax it right away, the dealer allready did :)

I remember when the 99s came out, people asking this question and everyone said you have to wait to let the paint breath for so long before you wax it. Dunno if its true or not..just what i remember..

If "everyone said that" they are mis-informed. Factory paint is baked on and is fully cured. It is OK to "wax" your car the instant it leaves the end of the assembly line.

However, "waxing" if a bit of a misnomer as Ford says to use a polymer sealant. From the '05 Mustang Owner's Manual.

WAXING

Applying a polymer paint sealant to your vehicle every six months will
assist in reducing minor scratches and paint damage.

• Wash the vehicle first.

• Do not use waxes that contain abrasives.
