top speed?

Theoretically speaking, a 94-98 Mustang chassis will need about 350 hp to hit 175. With 245/45-17's, you should hit it at around 6K (3.55's, .74 tranny ratio).

Build a strong motor in the 400-450 mph range and consider your gearing (to include the tranny) carefully.

As far as suspension, it depends on what you plan to use the car the majority of the time. A suspension setup to run well at the dragstrip (for your 12s timeslip) will not do so well at high speeds. Chassis stiffening is first and foremost. You don't necessarily need coilovers, but they are nice :).

I'm currently on a quest for the 300 mph mark, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Oh yeah, and don't be an ass and run 175+ on the damn streets. Take it to a course or certified event. The innocent people who share the roads will thanks you.

I would just use 3.27 gears if you have those stock. You will have to look into what all you will need to go that fast. I don't know how fast you can go with a stock hood setup. I would get something to hold it down better. This is kind of an odd post.

AND BTW don't we have can't we only go 155 with out getting a chip to override the computer.

all german cars are electronically limited to 155, ive never heard of that being the case for mustangs. as far as 175+, anything is possible but make sure to enlist people that really really know what they're doing to help you. plenty of people on these boards have the raw power to reach 175, but that would be a deathwish without significant aero and suspension mods.

It does not seem possible with most any setup to occomplish this in 4th so a strong 5th gear or a 6 speed is nessisary but what kind of power will it take to push the car the rest of the way

I got the suspension setup I want under control...if there r any challenges I can solve those.

I want to run a G-Force T-5
(2.46, 1.54, 1.22, 1.00, 0.59)

What gear ratio should I run?

If I was on the bottle could I top out 5th sooner?

What kind of HP should I shoot for, while retaining the stock short block?

How can I build a higher rev capable motor with a redline near 8000rpm?
