Hey,
86GT, T-tops. What holds the door hinges against the body? There are the three bolts that go into the body side hinge, but what is on the back of those?
Is it a metal plate that they screw into or floating nutplates or something or do they screw right into threaded holes in the body?
I ask because some genius welded one of my hinges to the body and I am trying to get the doors aligned.

Thanks,
Hector

its a called a cage nut. its just a plate with 3 threaded holes that moves in a "cage" for alignment.
Ok, so you know what it looks like. If it's missing do you think a couple of monkeys at a body shop could make a suitable substitute or does it look more complicated than it sounds?
