03 cobra boost gauge problem?

Ok heres whats going on:

I think my buddies boost gauge is not doing what it is supposed to. at 2K it reads 0 at 4K it reads 0. we haven't taken it much past that as it is new to him. in fact, it always reads 0 unless you nail it. then, it spikes and goes up as long as you keep your foot in it.

is this normal? any comments would be helpful.

What do you mean by do the by-pass? i assume this will keep the boost from bleeding off and killing power?
 
It's normal. Cobra's are not in boost until you go WOT. I could be driving at 6,000 rpm's and still not be in boost.


See, this is on the highway.....not in boost..............

The boost by-pass mod will not create or give you any additional boost. It will prevent the existing boost from being bled off between shifts. This can also be accomplished in the tune.
