with 18x9's you should really have 265/35/18 in front. I have them on my car and have no rim protection. 255/35/18 would be worse. To keep the same diameter as stock in back (for the speedometer), do 275/35/18.. I have the combo w/ pics from my sig.

what are the pos & negs of running different size tires in front & back. do you have to rotate different, more often. would it look good with 265/35/18's all around. or would the 275's be better. how will car handle diff between 265's & 275's. will there be any rubbing issues. my car is dropped a little over an inch. thanks

of course you can't rotate with 265 front and 275 rear, but it just won't look that great with 265 in back.. Like i said, the rim lip sticks out running 265/35 on an 18x9.. You don't want it to look like that in the rear.

Do the 265 front and 275 rear.
Here's my 265 front.. anything wider would rub on my coilover setup, but you can see that the lip sticks out past the tire.

I say 275 all the way around....
I have 275 on front, and 285 on rear, and 275 looks just perfect on replation tto how far fender fleres out, and overall with of front. And I don't know what everyone is talking, but I have never had any and I mean ANY issue with tracking...

If you are going to put narrower tires on the front I think you should match the diameters:

1. For rim protection
2. ABS sensor, your abs light will come on because it will sense that your front tires are rotateing faster.

I don't think it will put the speedo out though. It just gets the speed from the rear diff I believe.

265/35/18 and 275/35/18 are a small fraction of an inch different in diameter

For a 9 inch rim, 285/35 is as wide as you should go for the back, but if you want exact tire diameter to stock in back, 275/35 is what you want.

275's all around would stock diameter, or just out back. so what is better to do? 275'S all around, or just in the back with 265's up front. with my set up do you think any rubbing will occur. thanks

Take a look at this...

It's a BFG KDW gforce 265/35/ZR18's, I've got em all the way around. They have that nefty little rim protector on em so I dont have to worry about curb rash as much anymore. The only reason I mention anything is because someone mentioned something about the rim sticking out furthur than the tire. I got them from wheelreplicas.com, dont know if they still carry them or not, but they are pretty good tires, wet or dry.

Here's a full pic...

My 18x9's have a 26mm offset, and when I take a full lock turn I get some rubbing with the 265's (but not bad at all). Your rims are most likely 24mm offset, which means they are 2mm closer. 275's will get some more rub. I went with 265 in front so that I wouldn't loose too much steering feel, and so i would have minimal rubbing with a well fitting tire, plus I liked the look of having a tire in back that was 10mm wider.

It doesn't matter if you have stock diameter in front. The stock diameter is 25.7"
The 265/35's are 25.3"-25.4"
Because you could fit even 285's in the rear, you might as well at least go 275 to show that you've got some meat in back.

just my opinion

run 275/35/18 on the front with a 9" wheel, and on the back run 335/35/18 on a 10.5 that's what I am running, looks pretty nice, and you can still manage a decent amount of traction if you get the right tread
did you read his post? he said he ordered 18x9's already.. 335's don't really help. Hope you have a built rear end for that heavy rubber.

Im going to run 17x8s with 245/45s on the front and 17x9s with 275/40s on the rear. The diameters are the same. kinda hoping that the rears will fill out the body like the fronts.
