Help me pick an intake......

Let's see some real world comparisons of intake swaps on the same car along with combo information. What Sylent needs is real world experience vs opinion. Bump.......

Well if that is the case (which I love to jump on the experience bandwagon instead of hearsay)...I'm happy with my Performer...and so is killercanary and it supports his 112+mph run...

It isn't all about the cam...it is about the entire package...it isn't strickly based on cam grind/head flows/etc...That X cam is fine...a custom would be better overall...

Good Luck

Here's a real world combo for consideration:

87 GT T-tops - (3620# w/driver)
DSS306 - stock part bottom end w/forged pistons (I don't recall the CR, but I think it was 10.0:1)
Holley Systemax heads & intake (unported)
70mmTB
77mm Pro-M bullet
Comp Cams XE-274-HR
1-3/4 long tubes
T-5
Aluminum D/S
3.73s
No A/C, No smog pump/pulley

This car ran consistent 13.0xx's @ 111/112mph on street tires. Sorry I don't have any dyno #s for it.

I couldn't agree more. The Performer is a good intake - but take a look at this snapshot of combos and dynos - You'll find the GT40 family and other intakes making so-so power all the way through excellent power. Some stock and some ported. It's all in the combo and tune...........
