My Engine is Out of My Car...All of the threads

My neighbor bought a Acura LX a few weeks ago. During the drive home from the dealer the motor seized up. Obviously the car had to be towed. The next day they went back to the dealer and they gave them a brand new car. NO questions asked. If this happened to me I would have certainly not be patient and be looking into legal recourse for a new one. Or at least a full refund to buy one elsewhere. I think your dealer is screwing you. Dont they have district manager or someone outside the dealer you can discuss with?

:rlaugh: They sleep in the same bed.

You would need to write a nice letter to a VP with a signature recept. Yes coming from insider management it is the nice letters that get the acceptional remedy. The nasty ones get buried.

This is sad, I feel for you dude. I realy do not see a replacement vehicle coming out of this although it is a rare possiblity. We purchase new motor vehicles with a warranty from day one to whatever time or mileage per purchase applies. Not a vehicle replacement guarantee with X time or mileage.

Sure anyone would prefer another vehicle, but that will just have its own possible problems too. I do agree that an engine replacement would be the best remedy and what I would want to happen asap.

BTW are they providing you with a loaner?

It may take a while, but it will eventually work out. If they put the motor back together and it is mysteriously fine, then they'll drop it back in the car and send you on your merry way. Either that will work out great and you'll be happy for a few hundred thousand miles, or it'll break again, and you'll be back at the dealer with your 2nd of 3 fixes and more days on the 30 day accumulation. Just keep your eyes on the prize -- the day it becomes officially a lemon. :)

What if you made the suggestion to replace the engine, and then send it back to the factory so that they can disect the engine? That's exactly what they're doing with my rear axle assembly. They won't let the dealer touch it, they have to send it back and replace my axle.

If this situation continues to deteriorate and you do find yourself with legal representation, suggest you also hire a professional engineer to inspect the motor and provide independent opinion re the engine's demise. This alone could cost you $500 or more, though. right now, all you have is the opinion of the ford mechanics, and ford will rely solely on that to decide how they will handle the situation. You might also tell ford D.O that you are seeking claim for diminution in the car's market value due to its repair history (which although it will likely not ever make it to a Carfax report, will certainly be in the Ford system). I certainly don't want your car. there are many ways to stir this up without yelling at Ford. Be nice but make sure they know you are going to be a PITA until you get want you want.

I say road trip to Mustang Headquaters, with a local news crew, and all you would have to do is stand there at aboout noon and look directly into the camera and tell all of Mich., Ford wont fix your car. I bet someone will come running out with keys to next one off the assembly line. Let me know I might go with ya,

They tell me that within a certain degree that everyone knows someone that knows someone....well I think the jist is "Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon". I have posted on this website and have seen how many people have reviewed the threads. About 2600 on the first post and about 600 on this update.

If any of you out there know anyone that is willing to listen to my situation day or night I am ready to discuss it. Email me on the forum and I will gladly give you a call to discuss. Believe me when I say that I am not someone that smoked their car and am trying to get Ford to fix it. My car broke, and Ford is really doing field research on my car to figure out why the motor broke instead of fixing my car!

Sincerely, one sad Mustang owner.

I still say a trip to mustang Headquaters, with a local news crew, and a lawyer,( to do the talkin, cuz I might use a curse word or two) will get Ford lookin in your direction. What would really wow them if you could someway take your 05' all taken apart, and put it on their front door step. I have a feeling that the district manager that is working this issue, is tryin to buck for a promotion by tryin to solve the problem in the field. He nothing to lose by doing it at your local dealer. If it gets fixed, hes a hero, if the Lemon law catches up to him, no foul, he could blame it on the dealership for draggin a$$. I hate to give advice, but start looking for a paper trail, that says Ford said to do this, if not Ford, then from the DM, the dealer should have a copy of all work orders cut for your car. Just simple tell them its your car, and you need just need a copy for your records. They wont think you are using them to build a case, just a guy tryin to get his car straight. A good way to start is by calling the receptionist, they cant get you anything but names and numbers. You need to get to the business office people, not the service manager or sales people, remember these people really dont know what the service guy is sayin. The office has the paper trail, you need their correspondace with who ever is tellin them what to do with your car. I can go on for ever but.... :) if interested in more just let know

When the 4.6L Crown Vic's first came out they were immediately used in my area as State trooper, County and City Police cars. My Dad is a senior technician at a Ford dealer and had a State Trooper car come in with a blown piston after 55,000 miles. Ford told him not too touch the engine, since it was an unexpected occurrence, they flew two engineers out the next day. They wrapped up the entire engine and flew it back to Michigan for "field research", and they had a new engine to my Dad in 3 days. Thats what they should have done for you.

The point I’m making is Stang2K5 made this glorious pitch about how quality on the 05’s were so much better than the SN95’s, and that simply isn’t true.

it simply is true but every batch cars has their bad ones. When I say every batch I mean every batch from every manufacturer.
