Greetings All

Just wanted to drop a formal greeting to all, I joined this site a few weeks ago. I posted once or twice in the past without the benefit of a formal hello, my bad, sorry for that. I know most people don't care but there are those that are into forum ettiquete and I can appreciate that. Most of the people on this site seem to be pretty cool and respectful, I've been on to many forums that are populated by kids and idiots with nothing better to do than insult and belittle whoever they can, I guess it makes them feel good.

I currently don't own a stang, I've owned a few in the past as you can see from my sig below. My plan is for an 05 this summer, so I'll probably be spending most of my time in this forum, with occasional excursions into the classic area. I'd love to order the car now but I've got to get the wife's truck paid off first  I've been in here for a few weeks now keeping my eyes on any tech problems that people may be having with the new cars. Originally I was thinking of waiting and getting an 06 in the fall to try and avoid any problems with the new models but to be honest I just can't wait that long :D The plan is for a GT premium manual with the IUP in windveil blue with the parchment interior, or mineral gray with the dark charcoal. Either way, white rally stripes are going on soon after. This car is the first mustang that has really had an effect on me in over 25 years. I saw it last year at the NYC auto show and it blew me away. Went to see it a few weeks ago at my local dealer (a V6, no GT's on the lot then) and I felt like I was standing next to my 67 again. I still have to get a test drive in the GT but it seems like no one near me has any and any that do come in are already bought, so they aren't going to let someone thrash it on a test drive (not that I would do that). It seems the biggest debate on these cars is the wheels. My opinion on that, I like the standard GT Bullitt type wheels (will get those on my car), and don't care for the upgrade wheels. Those wheels are nice enough, but I don't think they suit the new GT though. What I really wish was that you could get the V6 Halibrandt look alikes with spinners in 17 inch and get them on the GT, those I really like.

Anyway, I will eventually get another 67, the plan is for a coupe with 4 speed, 351C, GT/CS body kit and road course tuned suspension, but thats a ways away. Just for some background, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit this in a Mustang forum, but my current project/toy is a 73 Triumph TR6. I've always had a thing for vintage British iron and the TR6 was one of those cars I've always loved, the last of the true classic British roadsters. If I had money to burn I'd have a series I or II E type Jag in the garage to. OK, I'm ready for the beating thats coming about my 112 hp foreign car, bring it on!

It does the same thing for me but it's a 69 for me :)

Agreed...same thing on my car. Once someone comes out with an 18" wheel I'll switch to those.

By the way welcome to the boards.

I agree, I been reading this forum ever since I first heard of the new Mustang and I get a lot from the people here.

I ordered mine Nov 2, Build date was Dec 6, got my VIN number. My there kids, all grown up now, 18, 22, 23 made up their Christams wish lists, mine was Matrix Movies Boxed set and an 05 Mustang. I'm hoping it makes it to Fla before the Christmas break.

I'' tell you all something,I still get sort of choked up/excited when I see pics of the 05 straight from the front end with twin Shelby racing stripes. From the front like that with the dual fog lights, that car looks so much like a Shelby I just cant beleive it. And I think to myself , wow finally a "Shelby" I can afford for myself, with state of the art performance and quality, It just dosent get any better.
