Hey all I plan on buying a turbo in the near future, and it appears the hp gains are endless  What do you guys think is a safe rwhp for our blocks, I really dont have the extra cash for a cracked block :p Is 400rwhp too risky.. (keep in mind its a daily driver) Any input would be helpful :D

i wouldn't go much higher than 500 rwhp. thats about 600 fwhp. thats about as much as i would trust a stock bottom end. if you upgraded the crank and pistons then more, but stock internals no way.

I have a forged bottom end/girdle. Anything over 500rw and your at your own risk.
Blue..mine has been fine for 2yrs..and I'm mid 500's w/o the methanol

if you want safe and reliable.. Then just leave it alone, lol.
Anytime you add power (especially double it) you start to run into problems quicker then you would, if you had left it alone.

that said, 400 is within a safe zone, as long as you dont go hog wild on the timing, and keep the air/fuel within reason (under 12:0)

Im kinda in the same boat.

Im about to start putting the talon back to stock and turboing the mustang. Ill be content with 400whp for a while while I do stuff like swap to an auto (Im building it for drag racing, Ill still have the AWD Talon for manual fun).

Everything Ive read says that 400hp should be alright.

I learned this all last week, into detail. The weak spots aren't weak when you're looking at stock horsepower, that's why these 302's are bulletproof like they are. The cast steel parts are the weak links though, when you start throwing power adders on or otherwise raising compression. A Forged crank and pistons will help you big time. Anybody, please tell me if i've got it all wrong....
