i just got my 4.10's bout a month ago. finally got on the track. time went from 9.4 to 8.9 along with springs annd k&n. if track wouldnt have closed i think i could have pulled 8.8. but anyways. here's the thing i got spanked by a camaro ss. and if i hate anything it is getting beat by th F***** chevy and it is on a 1/8 mile track. my rt was a .225 60' of 2.1 i had him i was running away then i got to bout the 330 ft mark and i seen him coming he ran a 8.4 and i ran a 9.1 this run. i need some good advice on a intake or something to help my top end. help is greatly appreciated

First of all, the Camaro has the advantage. But for your case, I'd suggest a programmer or a dyno tune. You can always find hidden power. I installed a Mach 1 Shaker Hood on my car and it shed 2 tenths off my time. The thing is, my car gets more and more powerful everyday. The Diablosport and SCT will let you advance your spark curve and adjust the WOT. That may give you the extra power you need.

I do feel your pain. worst loss i've ever had came against a 'lightly' modded firehawk. it was right after i got my car, all stock. = multiple car lengths.

i don't think you're gonna find an easy solution to this one other than the bottle. i had a 94 cobra back in the day & the 4vs just pull so much harder up top than the 2vs do. so ....

i will be installing cams/springs, & heads during the off-season. i'm hoping that will be enough to put me over the hump, it's a shame that those ugly-@ss cars run so well. but i do believe the stock heads are a big part of the problem. but i'm just a simple caveman-lawyer. so ??

Ya, a 1/2 second in the 1/4 is pretty tough to make up. Some super sticky tires will give you a better start and some cams should help you keep ahead long enough to make it through the 1/8th. A pretty little bottle nestled in your trunk feeding instant HP to your engine would do the trick. :D

A lot of people say that 3rd gear is the sweet spot in a new Camaro or Trans Am. So when I'm on the street and find one I run 1st and 2nd the let off before he has time to catch me. HaHa
I've seen a few of those cars run low 14's with bad drivers at the track and thats also who I try to pick on.

RIP 112 where did you find a Mach 1 shaker for your car? Is it a complete kit that makes it functional and shake and everthing like a Mach 1?
That would be BADA$$. Can you send me picks?

When are you guys gonna quit comparing apples to oranges and who cares if an LS1 beats you? Stock for stock they'll always have the advantage on us unless you make up for the lack of displacement with a blower, turbo or nitrous.

Everbody that has a mustang and dragraces compares apples to oranges. I mean if you don't want to try beating LS1's, what are you going to race Hondas? I am a Ford person and I like puttin down a Chevy ever chance I get

does anybody have the c&L maf inlet pipe and k&n and heat shield. that was gonna be my next mod with the c&L plenum. i figured that would help top end quite a bit. i have been wantin that lopey idle might go with a cam. it just kills me the camaro ss's have that much top thats freakin crazy. i think it was like a 01 maybe

8.9 is about a 13.9 in the 1/4 8.4 he would of ran a high 12 at least.
