I got my Cobra 1 month ago and every since I bought it I have had nothing but problems. Oil leak from the valve covers, strange vibrations, spoiler on the rear loose/falling off, throw out bearing, pressure plate, something in the front end poping/creaking loud and yesterday I couldn't get it into second gear!!! I has been in the shop for 2 weeks out of the 4 that I have owned it I have had 3 rentals and I already made my first payment. What can I do am I totally screwed? The dealership manager is speaking to me about it but all he says really is they what to fix this one for me, I on the other hand want a different 03 Cobra this one sucks!!!! I have only put 250 miles on it since I bought it, I just filled up my second tank of gas yesterday before I took it back in for the clutch/tranny!!! Help what can I do????

Run a carfax. If it comes up as being hit, raise an absolute stink at the dealership. Document every single thing that is wrong with it and tell them you didn't buy a year old car for all this BS to come with it. It should all be covered under Ford's factory warranty still.

Ya & is sold as is...

Take it into a dealer & see if it's covered under your warranty.

If it is then great you may have to pay what a 1 time fee of $50 to have everything fixed & they may or probably even will get you a rental car free of charge aswell.

Then what's the problem, other than normal repairs that are part of nature & common amongs buying a used car.

Yeah, those are definately common problems for a 2003 Cobra with 13,000. Leaking headgaskets are especially normal repairs. That was a well made point.

What was your point in this thread again?

BNH - They should be covering everything under a full warranty. The things that are wrong with the car are rediculous. It's probably lead a fairly hard life of abuse prior to you owning it. The good thing is it's under warranty and they're fixing whats wrong with it. Keep tight tabs on everything that's wrong with the car and if they keep coming up, tell the dealer that it's unacceptable. Read up on the lemon law and what your rights are. Hopefully the dealership will fix everything and you'll be fine.

They are covering everything but I am so sick of taking it back. I just got it back today the clutch pedal still vibrates and sounds like a helicopter. Wed. it got a pressure plate yesterday a throwout bearing. It needs to go back but Iam sick of going in there!!!!

That sucks about the car. I would do everything in your power to get them to take it back, including contacting FORD themselves. As far as the lemon law, if it is anything like Floridas, good luck. Biggest bull**** ever. Had a budy with a KIA that spent 5 months of the year in the shop and it didn't qualify since it wasn't the same thing broke every time. Good luck.

Almost all the problems you've listed are common on the '03. There are even TSB's for some.

As stated earlier the car should still be under the factory warranty, so keep taking it back in until they either fix it right, or make some other consession.

Did you purchase this used '03 from an SVT authorized Ford dealer?
