Those are nice mods. I would also recommend a set of idlers to prevent belt slip and a non-slip belt also. A custom tune is a must whether it is a dyno tune or a hand held flash. Look into the handheld tuners, Diablosport Predator with a custom tune is what a lot of us have. Either James at RWTD or Amazon can do that for you. Superchips makes a nice tuner also. :nice:

can you please explain what idelers are and do, and can you give me a link or so more info on which chip to get or who to talk to about it?thanks alot guys!
Idlers are installed to help keep tension on the belt when it is spinning. With a small pulley that thing will be spinning very fast. Billetflow makes nice stuff and a lot of pullied cobras are running their set-up.
Checkout their website, believe it is Billetflow.com. Metco also makes a nice product. As far as the handheld tuner check out Diablosporttuning.com, I think that is the site.

What state are you in? I wouldn't just buy a chip unless you absolutely cannot get the car on a dyno. This is going to be pricey but it is an absolute must in my opinion. You don't want the car leaning out.

I live in Florida as well...you can go a couple routes with the tune. A lot of guys, including myself, buy a handheld tuner and then have a shop fine tune the car on a dyno from there. The Predator is pretty much the best out there right now and can be found on ebay new for a reasonable price (better than most retail or online). This will allow you to "re-flash" the car if you perform other mods like a pulley (the predator has a pretty good pulley tune program as well) as well as turn off the check engine light if you go with offroad exhaust, compensate for different wheel/tire sizes speedometer-wise, etc.

The other route would be to find a shop that specializes in tuning and have them burn a custom chip for the car based on dyno results. This is pretty much a one time deal and I found it to be about as expensive as the option listed above...you just dont have the handheld tuner.

In either case, best of luck...these cars get really fun really quick with mods.

Has anyone considered the PerformancePac from SLP? It is pretty much complete and they promise more than 115hp from it. Comes with headers, x-pipe, Loudmouth exhaust, pulley, pulley puller, 95mm Mass air and filter, Gatorback belt and a tuner. Lots of stuff for an MSRP of $2600, though I'm sure a dealer would offer a better price.
I happen to have a SFPHQ HUB kit with 3 pulleys and 2 Gatorbacks for sale as well. That would get you started. Just sold a bunch of '03-'04 parts you could have used.
Well, good luck in your search and Congratulations!

Thanks for the info as well STEEDA85GT. I just bought an 03 cobra 2 nights ago. It's completely stock so I might be asking you for some advice once in a while since we live near each other... I'm in coral springs. Maybe we can meet up in tower shops one night.

Danny.
