3-I bought and installed Auto Gauges coolant temp and oil pressure. I took the car for a hard drive last night trying to load the engine to see how hot she would get and she never exceeded about 182-183.

Scot, i had a feeling (aftermarket gauges were my second suggestion in my first post to you (number one was burping).

like i said, the stocker are just too inaccurate to rely on. i always recommend aftermarket oil pressure and water temp gauges at a minimum.

im very happy to hear you are cruising trouble free and cool again. enjoy the tradewinds and cool cruising (what island are you on?).

my family used to spend 3-6 months a year on the islands (Molokai mostly, but spent some time on each island). always liked the big island (both sides - as a small kid i remember the magpies waking me up). spent a lot of time in Waikiki too. this was some time ago. i miss it though (i hear it is not the same as it was 15-20 years ago).

i am jealous of ya though.
