Would it be a bad idea to mount the 10oz bottle of the Venom V500 kit in the engine bay. Would the heat be to much for the nitrous or would it help by keeping it warm. It would also be easier to install and not to mention look cool.

do you guys think its bad because of the heat?

Yes. Most of us that run nitrous actually use a bottle warmer to raise the bottle pressure...and it doesn't take too much heat to raise the bottle pressure.

If you put the bottle in the engine the pressure will rise at an uncontrollable rate...at least until the safety valve release all your nitrous into the engine bay. Or if the safety valve fails the bottle explodes and kill you...maybe not kill you :)

Ever see the pics of the nitrous bottle that exploded in some guys trunk? Took out his car and like half his garage.

I wouldn't put it in the engine bay. Asking for trouble.

Don't listen to these guys, if you want to do it, go for it. Remember nothing is out of your reach!

The trunk is furthur than the engine bay, cmon! If ANYTHING were to happen.. GAME OVER. Why do you think typical installations are done in the trunk

Heh I remember the picks of the truck that were floating around here for a while whos Nitrous blew the hood off and his bottle wasnt even in there.

Imagine it would be pretty messy if a bottle blew up under there.

Nitrous explosion, presumably it was in the trunk (based on the fact that there is no longer a trunk :D ). Regardless of where you put it, it must be dealt with as if it's a bomb. Putting 'the bomb' in the engine compartment is crazy.

yeah but wouldn't the firewall prevent the explosion and flames from entering into the car, if the nitrous exploded in the engine bay?
