Fenders

"To complement the new 16 inch wheel, P225/55ZR Goodyear uni-directional Gatorbacks were standard with P225/55ZR16 all-season performance tires becoming an option. In addition, different front fenders were installed to accomodate the bigger wheel/tire combo." -mustanggt.org 1991 GT info...

Do the 91-93 fenders fit without modification on the 79-90 cars? I have a 90 lx and want larger tires in the back, but was told I would have to roll the fenders to accomplish it without rubbing. Maybe I could just swap my fenders with newer ones instead though?

Bit more work than I was planning, but I bookmarked the site anyway for future reference :)

I really only plan on doing 275 wide tires on a 9 inch rim for now, so really I'm just curious if I can use 91-93 front and rear fenders on my 1990 lx? I also saw a company online that sells 1-3 inch flared fenders for the fox body, but can't remember the site's address, anybody know who I'm talking about?

91-93 front fenders will bolt right up to a 87-90. The 91-93 cars only have wider wells on the front. The rear quarters are identical on 87-93.

Ford was only looking to fit a 225/55/16 on 91-93 cars ... and the only "fenders" that obstructed were the fronts with the inner fender. A 275 <26" tall will fit in the rear wheelwell as long as your 9 inch rim has the proper offset.

DO NOT BUY FLARED FENDERS :puke:

I was only going to buy the 1 inch flare from the company I was talking about, which now I know is exactly what the difference between the 90 and 91 fender is. I'll just pick something up from the junkyard when I'm ready to paint my car :)

Thanks for the info.
